    Has Siraj got the breakthrough?

A ferocious yorker pins Rachin Ravindra on the toes. It's given out, and the ground erupts - but Ravindra reviews.

It's quite a reluctant one though, with a grimace on his face.

The Black Caps have really resurrected their innings. These two showing what a partnership can do - they have mixed caution with aggression really well. Anyone wearing blue in the stadium will be desperate for a wicket. As the sun goes down and the lights come on you might see the bowlers get a little bit more.

Alex: Listening to TMS whilst making an apple crumble in honour of England's batting performance yesterday.

  4. NZ 138-2published at 28 overs

A tumbling dive from Mohammed Siraj at short third prevents four runs, and just a single comes from the rest of the over.

When will we see this pair start to hit the accelerator?

That went flat, hard and hit the boundary sponge. This partnership for New Zealand is now worth 118 which you have to say is a quite impressive recovery.

    Lovely!

Daryl Mitchell starts the over with another six down the ground off Jadeja. It goes flat and fast, hitting the boundary sponge on the full.

    NZ 131-2

Daryl Mitchell joins Ravindra in reaching a composed half-century.

He gets lucky earlier in the over as a miscued pull shot just evades the fielder stationed at mid-wicket, but other than that, it has been chanceless.

  8. NZ 128-2published at 26 overs

Good from Jadeja, who has rattled through eight overs already, with just three coming from his latest.

Rohit Sharma is looking at his bowlers and thinking who will break this partnership. New Zealand have recovered from a tricky start and setting a good platform, but the run rate is nothing to worry about from India's perspective.

  10. NZ 125-2published at 25 overs

Mohammed Siraj tests Daryl Mitchell with a short ball, but it's not even the slightest bit threatening as the batter pummels it to the mid-wicket boundary.

At the halfway stage, New Zealand are in a very promising position.

As soon as this partnership is broken I think Rohit Sharma will look to bring back Kuldeep Yadav. He'll be happy to use the seamers until then. The ball is coming on nicely at the moment but India settled into their opening spell. I don't think it's a 400 pitch or ground. I think, much like any other game in this World Cup, 300 feels like a minimum.

  12. NZ 119-2published at 24.3 overs

The 100 partnership between Ravindra and Mitchell comes up and what a fine effort it has been.

They came together in the eighth over and have been cruising ever since.

  13. NZ 117-2published at 24 overs

Just a little bit of sloppiness creeping in from India here.

Some good running sees the batting pair push for two, and a wild Suryakumar Yadav throw almost gifts an overthrow.

A better throw from the next ball may have seen a run out opportunity as well, but KL Rahul is left fuming as he has to gather from an awkward bounce.

Seven runs come from Jadeja's over but he rattles through them so quickly, it's hard to remember any of the shots that were actually played.

  14. NZ 110-2published at 23 overs

There is still plenty of noise in support of India from the Dharamsala crowd but it is nowhere near as lively as it was earlier.

Here is where India's team selection may be questioned. Only five bowlers leaves Rohit Sharma in a bit of a conundrum if one of them takes a bit of tap - as Kuldeep Yadav has.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Rachin Ravindrapublished at 22.3 overs

    NZ 110-2

A single off Kuldeep brings up a classy half-century for Rachin Ravindra, who is impressing more and more with every innings he plays during this World Cup.

New Zealand were in a right pickle early on, with India firmly in control, but he's withstood it all with great skill and maturity.

  16. NZ 107-2published at 22 overs

A little short from Jadeja, and Ravindra can easily rock back in his crease and slap it away for four.

The spinner must be pretty fed up of the sight of Ravindra by now, particularly after this.

  17. NZ 100-2published at 21 overs

A couple of singles and a wide follow the six.

Daryl Mitchell moves to 38 and he has shifted New Zealand's momentum since he came in.

  18. 6 runs

    NZ 96-2published at 20.2 overs

    Cheers, Sam.

Well, Daryl Mitchell is really taking a liking to Kuldeep here.

The leg-spinner's second ball of the over is launched for another mighty six. This is turning into a fabulous partnership.

  19. NZ 90-2published at 20 overs

Well, New Zealand's big acceleration ends after just one over as Ravindra Jadeja concedes just one from this one.

The innings is nicely set up and could go either way from here. To see which direction it takes, I'll hand you over to Ffion Wynne.

  20. NZ 90-2published at 19 overs

    Ravindra 39, Mitchell 30

A big over for New Zealand, 16 from it and this third-wicket stand is now up to 71 from 69.

India just being put under a bit of pressure for the first time today.
