Three lovely shots hit through the covers. Aerial, but fully in control of them. But it does look like Sri Lanka are challenging Malan to hit through his favourite areas.

Congratulations. I once went to a cricket-themed wedding. The invites were tickets, Wisdens on the tables, a little scorebox as a picture booth.

This is good from Malan, back-to-back fours off Rajitha, both through the off side, throwing the hands through the ball.

Hi Stephan. Just landed back in UK after getting married in Jodhpur on Sunday and then watching AUS v NED yesterday in Delhi. Hoping for some honeymoon fireworks from England this morning as we train back home.

I'm worried about Madushanka to Malan. When it swings it challenges the outside edge, when it doesn't it looks set to thud into the front pad.

There’s a guy below the TMS box in a Jude Bellingham Real Madrid shirt. I bet Bellingham can turn his arm over. He can do everything else.

Darren, I'm about to wave my mug in the air to see if any of my colleagues have learnt anything from yesterday.

I know there’s a cricket match going on, but we need to know if there is any sign of ‘tea-gate’ again today? #jacktea

It was a half volley, up in the slot. Without trying to hit it too hard - it's where Bairstow went wrong in Mumbai, if you go too hard you lose your shape, your weight gets in the wrong place.

Oh, yeah. Lovely. Dawid Malan greets Madushanka's first ball with the sort of cover drive to make you weak at the knees.

When Bairstow plays across the leg side he can look like he's thrashing it. Here he waits until it's under his eyes, he looks a lot more fluent.

Bairstow likes that cut shot, playing it off the front foot. The first boundary of the innings, just a little bit of width and he's ruthless in that area.

  12. Eng 7-0published at 2 overs

You've got your wish, Mike. Bairstow cuts straight through the fielder at point for four.

I'll tell you what I want What I really really want... I really really really wanna long hop outside the off stump

Kasun Rajitha shares the new ball. He came into the Sri Lanka side against the Netherlands on Saturday and took four wickets.

Madushanka can be dangerous with the lbw and ball breaking through the gate. England will need to look out for him in the first ten overs.

  16. Eng 3-0published at 1 over

Woooffffttt! Dawid Malan is swinging like a rusty gate. A few swipes outside the off stump, with nothing to show for it.

England may have got away with one. It would have hit leg stump! Bairstow should have been given out first ball. He would have had a perfect view of the screen showing three reds on ball tracking, and will know he got away with it.

    Eng 3-0

It was pad first! Sri Lanka didn't review it. It was crashing into middle and leg. Bairstow could - and should - have been out first ball.

That fourth position is looking very tight at the moment. Five wins and four losses might get you through, but England need to improve their run-rate today. It's match 25 today - so we're half-way through the tournament.

I told you to put names on your texts! Come on, if you're going to get stuck into me, show yourself.

First ball, Bairstow jams down on an late swinger. Was that pad first? England have run three.
