It was a half volley, up in the slot. Without trying to hit it too hard - it's where Bairstow went wrong in Mumbai, if you go too hard you lose your shape, your weight gets in the wrong place.

Bairstow likes that cut shot, playing it off the front foot. The first boundary of the innings, just a little bit of width and he's ruthless in that area.

Madushanka can be dangerous with the lbw and ball breaking through the gate. England will need to look out for him in the first ten overs.

England may have got away with one. It would have hit leg stump! Bairstow should have been given out first ball. He would have had a perfect view of the screen showing three reds on ball tracking, and will know he got away with it.

It was pad first! Sri Lanka didn't review it. It was crashing into middle and leg. Bairstow could - and should - have been out first ball.
