If that dismissal from Ben Stokes was disappointing, that one from Adil Rashid was even more so.
It just indicates a sloppiness that we have not seen from this England team in the past eight years.
Paul Farbrace
Former England assistant coach on BBC Test Match Special
It has been a catalogue of errors. It has gone from bad to worse for England.
David Willey sees off the Theekshana over, edging onto his pads.
Mark Wood is in at the other end.

All set up beautifully for Mark Wood to top score again!

These are the things that creep in when you're having a poor World Cup.
Mendis was so quick to the ball and threw the stumps down before Rashid could get back.
England are in dire straights here.

The one thing you didn't want to see. An unnecessary run out.
Rashid run out Mendis 2 (Eng 147-9)
That's pretty pathetic.
Adil Rashid is run out off a Theekshana wide, failing to make his way back into his crease as the bowler ambled back to his mark. Kusal Mendis takes the ball down the leg side, spots Rashid out his crease and sends a bullet throw to the other end.
England have lost nine wickets for 102 runs - and there was a 47 run partnership between Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali within that.
Steven Finn
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special
Adil Rashid was just ambling around and Mendis from behind the stumps has thrown the stumps down at the non-striker's end.
The Sri Lankans are celebrating like this is out.
Well, this has come from nothing.
Is Adil Rashid run out at the non-striker's end?

Stokes had 20 overs left to build a reasonable score. This is ridiculous, there’s every reason in this situation to simply play cautiously for 10 overs, move the score to 200 and then try to find some momentum in the final phase of the innings.

That's what Stokes wanted to do. He couldn't but Willey has. A big six.
Steven Finn
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special
The difference between that shot and Stokes' shot is that Willey waited for it that bit longer and hits it behind square.
Oh, hello!
David Willey is brought on strike from an Adil Rashid single and he dispatches Kumara into the stands at square for the first six of the innings. Banged in short, he was more in control than Stokes was earlier in the over.
Paul Farbrace
Former England assistant coach on BBC Test Match Special
That's probably the end for England in this game. It's a really disappointing dismissal.
That's how Stokes' innings has gone, he's not timed too much while he's been at the crease.
Steven Finn

Banged in halfway down with fielders out in the deep on the leg side. It was a trap and Ben Stokes fell into it.
I think that sounds the death knell for England's World Cup.
Prakash Wakankar
BBC Test Match Special commentator
That might well spell the ultimate doom for England in this innings.
That is something England will have dreaded seeing.
Stokes c Hemantha b Kumara 43 (Eng 137-8)
Is that all hope extinguished for England?
Banged in by Kumara and Stokes's eyes light up - he goes for another big heave into mid-wicket but doesn't get on top of the bounce.
The sub fielder Hemantha is waiting on the boundary and he takes a catch with his hands pointed upwards, collapsing to his knees as the ball settles in his hands.
And here is some spin, as Maheesh Theekshana appears for a seventh over.
Stokes takes two to the backward point boundary, the ball cut off at the boundary.

Let's forget 'intent' for a bit. Can someone please just hang around for Stokes!
