    Cheers, Sam.

Sri Lanka are chasing a World Cup record, then. Wonder if Kusal Mendis is regretting his decision at the toss yet?

He'll be hoping his openers Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne can put on a good start, otherwise Mendis himself will be in at three having spent 50 overs as captain and wicketkeeper in the scorching heat.

India's Shreyas Iyer: "It had some variable bounce, so I was just pouncing on the loose balls. The start and middle order allowed us to come out and express ourselves."

Partnership between Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli?: "They laid the platform for us and after that, KL and I came on. We had to look for that delivery. Overall, it was an important partnership."

It didn't have the urgency I expected, but there are still plenty of runs on the board. Because we've followed Australia and South Africa getting 400s, going at fives and sixes in the middle seems a bit boring, but it can set you up brilliantly at the end.

It will end a big target for Sri Lanka, but you will feel that India could have got even more in that partnership between Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli.

    Breaking

A very impressive last over from Kasun Rajitha to limit the damage but that's still a huge total for India.

Sri Lanka had chances right at the start of the innings but couldn't take them and were punished firstly by Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, then by Shreyas Iyer late on.

Shami run out (K Mendis) 2 (Ind 355-7)

Swing and a miss from Mohammed Shami, he wants to get Ravindra Jadeja back on strike but Kusal Mendis' hits the stumps with his underarm throw.

Jadeja had come sprinting down the pitch but, luckily for India, the batters hadn't crossed when the stumps were broken.

Jasprit Bumrah comes in and will be on strike with three balls left in the innings.

  18. Ind 352-6published at 49 overs

A bit of a free hit for Mohammed Shami to end the over.

He nearly puts his back out, he swings so hard but gets nowhere near the slower ball from Dushmantha Chameera.

No bother for India, Ravindra Jadeja is on strike to start the last over of the 50.
