  1. Afg 66-2published at 12 overs

Big appeal from Paul van Meekeren, who thinks he has Hashmat trapped in front of the stumps. It looks quite close, but Scott Edwards isn't convinced and it proves to be moot anyway as the Netherlands bowler has overstepped.

The luckless Van Meekeren follows up with a wide for a high delivery, then Hashmat hooks him for four for good measure.

Roelof van der Merwe's introduction has changed the feel of the game.

  3. Afg 60-2published at 11 overs

Captain Hashmat Shahidi is the next man in, he's seen his side home in their last two matches with scores of 58* and 48* while chasing. Can he do it again today?

He takes a single into square leg to get underway.

That is a timely wicket because the partnership was just starting to take the game away from the Netherlands.

It's a bit of an innocuous delivery from Van der Merwe, just getting into his spell. It was slow and quite wide, and I think the lack of pace deceived Ibrahim Zadran there.

But the good thing for Afghanistan is that they do have depth in the batting, their middle order has scored plenty of runs for them during this tournament which they don't usually have.

Zadran b van der Merwe 20 (Afg 55-2)

Hello there... and hello to you, Roloef van Merwe! A wicket from the first ball of the over!

Ibrahim Zadran chops on, trying to slap the Netherlands all-rounder through the off side. The stumps are splayed and Van der Merwe gives his classic double first pump and roar.

A crucial wicket for the Netherlands.

This is getting away from the Netherlands pretty quickly now.

    Target 180

Change of bowling as Paul van Meekeren comes into the attack - and it is nightmare start for the seamer.

He is immediately cursing his luck as a thick inside edge from Rahmat Shah somehow misses his stumps and races away fine for four.

Rahmat then plays a glorious drive though backward point for another boundary, before making it three fours in the over with a drive that is fumbled by the man at extra cover before racing to the rope.

  10. Afg 42-1published at 9 overs

Aryan Dutt seems to offer one freebie per over which is eases any pressure Netherlanda are trying to build.

Dutt tosses one up outside off stump and Ibrahim Zadran clatters it away backward of square in the off side for his second boundary.

Here is the dismissal of Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Credit to Scott Edwards for a great review, he was convinced Gurbaz had nicked it and was proved correct.

I don't understand why the mid-on fielder is that wide. Anything down the ground is easy pickings.

  13. Afg 35-1published at 8 overs

Logan van Beek continues with four dots before pressure is lifted by Ibrahim Zadran, who punches the ball straight down the ground and it has just enough to beat two chasing Netherlands fields and go over the rope.

Once both these players are set they will try to push on, it's a great opportunity to improve their net run rate, which will come into play at the end of this tournament.

    Target 180

Aryan Dutt races through another over at the cost of just two singles.

Afghanistan have shown great maturity and patience in their run chases at this World Cup so far, chasing far bigger totals than today.

There is no need to panic with such a small target, but they don't want to get bogged down either.

  16. Afg 29-1published at 6 overs

Rahmat Shah is the new batter and gets off the mark first ball with a push and run into the leg-side.

That Gurbaz wicket was the Netherlands' first successful DRS review from eight attempts at this World Cup so far.

A big spike! That's the first wicket down for Afghanistan, slightly against the run of play. An excellent review from Scott Edwards.

It might have taken the bottom edge of the glove, that's what we'll wait for on ultra-edge.

  20. Netherlands reviewpublished at 5.3 overs

Has Rahmanullah Gurbaz gloves a leg-side delivery through to the wicketkeeper?

Logan van Beek and skipper Scott Edwards behind the stumps think so, they have sent it upstairs.
