If this partnership carries on for another 30-40 runs you'll see the shoulders of the Netherlands fielders drop.

Zadran is such a quality player, he looks so stylish. Great use of his feet and finding the gap.

  5. Afg 27-0published at 5 overs

More great footwork, this time from Ibrahim Zadran, as he spots a fuller delivery from Aryan Dutt and skips down the track before powering the ball down the ground for four.

Afghanistan are ruthlessly picking off the bad balls at the moment.

  6. Afg 22-0published at 4 overs

    Target 180

Shot off the innings so far from Rahmanullah Gurbaz as he clips a half-volley off his pads and through square leg for four.

Great footwork from Gurbaz. These two openers looking very comfortable so far.

That feels like it's clipping rather than hitting, not worth the review.

  8. Afg 16-0published at 3 overs

Big appeal from Aryan Dutt as he gets one to turn sharply into Ibrahim Zadran and smack him on the pads.

Dutt has a chat with skipper Scott Edwards about a review but decides against it. It may have been turning too much, Ibrahim had also made a decent stride forward.

It feels like England have tried to play 50-over cricket like they play 20-over cricket, while Afghanistan have adapted their game to the 50-over format.

  10. Afg 13-0published at 2 overs

    Target 180

We have seam opening at the other end as Logan van Beek comes steaming in, with Ibrahim Zadran helping himself to two runs with an edge down to third man.

Afghanistan have so much confidence in their batting, they've managed to chase totals down. They're not just a side that bats first, gets 230 and then throws their spinners at you.

Work here to be done by the Netherlands if they're going to somehow defend this.

  13. Afg 9-0published at 1 over

    Target 180

A fine start to the innings for Afghanistan, with nine coming off the first over from Aryan Dutt.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz helps himself to the first boundary of the match as he pounces on a short delivery from Dutt and cuts away to the rope.

It will be spin to open as 20-year-old offy Aryan Dutt is thrown the ball.

The Netherlands players gather in a huddle before making their way to the middle.

To say they need early wickets is an understatement. Afghanistan openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran could take this away from them very quickly.

Sybrand Engelbrecht showed some resistance with a battling 58, but the wickets continued to fall and the Netherlands were all out in the 47th over.

Missed the action so far? Then fear not, here is a recap.

The Netherlands won the toss and chose to bat first but made a terrible start, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman removing opener Wesley Barresi for his 100th one-day international wicket in the first over of the match.

Afghanistan bowler Mohammad Nabi: "Our first 10 overs was not good, we did not bowl the line and lengths we wanted to. We bowled badly.

"But Rashid Khan came back on and we said, those 10 overs are gone so we just have to focus on the next 40. Just bowl the right areas and they will make mistakes and it did.

"When the pressure is on the batter you know they will make mistakes and bad calls. So that helped us get the four run outs.

"I am feeling good with my bowling, my experience helps us and I like to use all of that to help the youngsters in all situations.

"It is a good pitch for batting, hopefully we will chase easily."
