This is the kind of one-day cricket is a kind of throwback. Australia just trying to rebuild now the spinners are on.

This is red hot 1970s batting from Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne for Australia at the moment. I am sure England fans will be thrilled to be watching these two batting...
A single from every ball of Liam Livingstone's over as Australia continue to play it safe. No sign they're particularly inclined to take on the England all-rounder.

Marnus Laburschange hit that right out of the middle. A good shot. He just leaned back on it. There wasn't a huge amount of footwork but it didn't need to be. It's a very good outfield and it raced away.
Ah, that's a bit better from Marnus Labuschagne. He breaks the boundary drought, crashing Wood through the covers - that ball was going at 91mph too.
England then appeal for lbw as Wood thunders one into Labuschagne's pads. Marais Eramus says no but Jos Buttler reviews - ball tracking has it missing the stumps, so England lose a review.

I think this could be the exception with the toss. It does tend to get more dew than other grounds around India and tends to come in a little bit earlier as well. There's been a crossover period between the sun going down and lights taking effect it swings, seams and zip around than what we've seen in the first half of the match. Sides tend to be two or three down and the game is almost gone by the time the dew starts to come. It's fraught with danger especially if it doesn't come at all.

Aggers and Aaron Finch in position on TMS…

Steve Smith changes his technique depending on who he is facing. That is the sign of someone who understands his own game and is able to adapt on the fly. To do that over to over if not easy.
Labuschagne takes two through backward point, and the Australian batters work Liam Livingstone for three further singles.
We haven't had a boundary for four and half overs now.

That was a quick bouncer from Mark Wood, especially on a surface which has looked slow. Steve Smith was not in a position to attempt to attack that.
Wood sends down another sharp bouncer to Smith before Labuschagne sends the ball down to the boundary at third - there's a touch of confusion about whether they should take a third run, but it all works out.
We'll have drinks in Ahmedabad, and as is now customary at this ground we've got chairs out for the batters.
England dismissed both Australian openers cheaply in the powerplay - take a look, it really happened!

After the toss of David Warner and Travis Head it's just a bit of rebuilding from Australia which explains why Jos Buttler thinks he might get a couple of overs of Liam Livingstone.
Chris Woakes gets his rest as Liam Livingstone gets a bowl - the first over of spin in this match. Afghanistan bowled 38.3 overs of it yesterday!
Australia push him around for three singles.

It's been a good start from Mark Wood. His pace has been up at the 90mph from ball one.
Mark Wood is looking pretty good here.
He scuds a ball past Marnus Labuschagne's head, the Australian batter has to duck away.
Chris Woakes stays on for a sixth over - quite the order in some sapping heat.
Labuschagne pulls him for four, and Woakes can be seen gulping down water at the end of the over.

It's just impossible to tell how many fans are in this ground huge ground for this match. They are all scattered all over the place.

Mark Wood's numbers are illustrative of the pitches being played on. The seamers who have done well are those who have swung the ball early on, or bowled cutters in the middle overs. Except India - who have been on another level! Extra pace on the ball is what the batters want.
