  1. SA 49-0published at 9 overs

    Target 245

    Can't run? No problem.

Temba Bavuma gets down on one knee and slogs Mohammad Nabi behind square for four.

He's then called through for a single from the final ball and almost falls flat on his face as he tries to run. It wasn't a particularly quick or risky one but he that's how much he is struggling.

  2. SA 41-0published at 8 overs

    Target 245

It doesn't seem like Quinton de Kock is feeling the pressure of having to take on the bulk of the run-scoring, given the form that he is in.

If they have to keep turning down singles, though, he may find himself getting frustrated.

  3. 6 runs

    SA 39-0published at 7.1 overs

    Yeah, don't bowl there.

Quinton de Kock moves to 29 with a ferocious pull shot as Naveen-ul-Haq gifts him a pie to whack into the stands over mid-wicket.

  4. SA 33-0published at 7 overs

    Target 245

The batting pair just keep things steady for the rest of the over, only two singles coming from it as Mohammad Nabi continues with his consistency.

It's not been the most explosive start from either side but South Africa will probably be happier - although one of their openers being unable to run isn't ideal.

Temba Bavuma is looking really laboured in his running. If I was the team physio, I'd be saying "let's get out of here."

  6. Not outpublished at 6.1 overs

    A sigh of relief.

Quinton de Kock gets back in time but that was a dreadful mix-up. And that is the problem with Bavuma's injury. It is making the decision-making very difficult for them both as to whether they can make runs or not.

  7. Umpire reviewpublished at 6.1 overs

    Oh dear.

Has there been a run out after a terrible mix-up between the pair? A direct hit takes out the stumps at Quinton de Kock's end, so if it's out, this would be disastrous.

It was definitely the bounce on that occasion, he wasn't quite sure where he was hitting that. I'm not sure that will help him, he wants convincing runs, not just runs.

  9. SA 31-0published at 6 overs

    Target 245

    Four more!

Again it's not perfectly controlled, this time by Temba Bavuma as he takes on the short ball from Naveen and gets a top edge over the keeper.

Bavuma needs a bit of luck to go his way. It is like he is batting purely to force himself into some form at the moment.

Quinton de Kock has very quickly reclaimed his place at the top of the tournament's run-scoring charts.

It was a catchable height if he moved quickly to his left.

  12. SA 24-0published at 5 overs

Oh! A streak of luck for Quinton de Kock as he gets a thick edge down to the deep third boundary!

It flies past slip and bowler Mohammad Nabi can't believe it.

  13. SA 19-0published at 4 overs

    Target 245

Saying that, the pair take a steady single down to deep third and Bavuma is definitely still limping. I'm not sure we're going to be seeing many quick singles taken here.

The positive for South Africa is that when Reeza Hendricks came in for Bavuma earlier in the tournament, he did brilliantly, so they do have a very handy replacement on the bench if necessary for the semis.

  14. SA 15-0published at 3 overs

    Target 245

Three singles to end the over, and Temba Bavuma looks to be moving relatively well at the moment after his struggles in the field.

It must make his job a heck of a lot easier batting with Quinton de Kock in this form, though.

The semi-finalists have all got players that have a big presence in the IPL. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh have zero or few players in there. So I think the IPL has helped a lot of the semi-finalists.

There's an economy of movement from De Kock, dismissing the ball down the ground.

  17. 6 runs

    SA 12-0published at 2.2 overs

    Here he goes again!

Quinton de Kock takes a skip down the pitch and lofts Mujeeb's second ball of the over for six.

    Pressure on the bowler early.

Not a bad way to start the chase, and your innings.

    Form of his life.

  19. SA 6-0published at 2 overs

    Target 245

Well, that certainly does make things interesting.

And Naveen-ul-Haq starts well, the first over of pace going for just a single.

245 is what the Netherlands scored in the game where they beat South Africa.
