Ind 149-4published at 29 overs
Having had absolutely nothing to write home about for the first eight overs of my stint, I've been rewarded with the moment of the day.
Australia enjoyed that one. I'm obviously neutral, but I did enjoy the reaction.

A groan breaks out around the ground. Kohli can't believe that, he's just standing there. Virat, you're out!
Kohli b Cummins 54 (Ind 148-4)
SILENCE!
The most innocuous of dismissals and that was not in the script.
Kohli tries to dab one down to deep third for an easy single but gets an edge on to his stumps and Pat Cummins roars in delight - and you could certainly hear that one.
Kohli stands still, stunned, at the sheer audacity of Cummins to get him out.
KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are happy to go back to nudging and nurdling their way around.
I think I've drawn the short straw with the middle overs stint here.
From 76-1 to 81-3 is probably the closest thing India have had to a collapse for quite some time.
Seven from the over - the most expensive for a while.
Glenn Maxwell very much challenging Ravindra Jadeja for the quickest bowler in terms of whizzing through his overs.

Slightly too short from Maxwell allows KL Rahul to flip it over his shoulder like a frying pan. That's his first boundary from his 60 deliveries.
And there it is!
KL Rahul with a dinky ramp over his shoulder for four.
Only took us 16.2 overs.

The last boundary was the very last ball of the powerplay.
A glimmer of excitement, as the ball seems to be racing to the boundary only for a diving David Warner to appear from nowhere and haul it back inside the ropes.
Australia's fielding has been exceptional.

A man with a ponytail and flanked by two bodyguards has just walked past me outside the media centre. My knowledge of Bollywood actors and/or India’s music charts is not what it should be.
Ind 132-3
The most remarkable consistency. Again, he is the glue holding India together.
That'll certainly spark the crowd into life.

It's only the 25th over and Australia have already used seven bowlers. It's almost T20 style. I like what Cummins is doing. He is not allowing this partnership to settle into a rhythm by letting the batters get used to a bowler.
Half way there, and 15 overs since the last boundary.
Still doesn't feel like India are under that much pressure.
Anyway, we're going back to Adam Zampa so Virat Kohli opts to bat in his cap. Now he means business.

The crowd are quite quiet. They may need the DJ to get them going again.
These masks are rather disturbing...

India are doing what really good teams do. They are not risking too much. This partnership is certainly playing more cautiously. There will come a time when they will have to play more dangerously but at the moment they are just taking it slowly.
Simple but effective from Mitchell Marsh, trundling away with his wicket-to-wicket medium pace and cramping the batters for room.
Just three from it. We could be in for an old-school 240/250 here.
Virat Kohli was timing the ball beautifully earlier. Australia have kept him quiet since Shreyas Iyer got out but just his presence will still be making them uneasy.

That ball looks grubby. It looks like it's been bitten by a dog or two. That's what happens when you have such a dry pitch.
