    Eng 90-3published at 11.4 overs

    Four, four, six.

A bit of length again from Andre Russell and Liam Livingstone short-arm jabs over the square leg boundary.

Livingstone is up to 16 off six balls.

  2. Eng 84-3published at 11.2 overs

    Need 93 from 51 balls

Are England going to target Andre Russell?

He's a little bit short to Liam Livingstone and the England all-rounder crashes it away to the square-leg fence.

There's then a little bit of width of offer and Livingstone carves through point for four. Livingstone had initially shouted for two but he placed it really well.

  3. Eng 75-3published at 11 overs

    Need 102 from 54 balls

England can only add three singles off Gudakesh Motie's latest over.

He's got figures of 0-7 from his three overs.

Required run-rate is up to 11.33.

  4. Eng 72-3published at 10 overs

    Need 105 from 60 balls

Sam Curran picks up his second boundary of the over with a crunching drive away. Lovely placement. He'd pulled away earlier in the over, before the wicket.

England pick up a bonus run too as Alzarri Joseph kicks down the stumps at the non-striker's end in his bowling action.

Liam Livingstone is the new batter.

    Where is Harry Brook?

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.3 overs

    Jacks c Holder b Joseph 24 (Eng 65-3)

    England are in trouble.

Alzarri Joseph again bangs into the pitch and Will Jacks looks to smash him out of the ground. He doesn't get enough on it though and Jason Holder is able to settle himself under a simple catch at long-on.

Jacks finishes with 24 off 21 balls, having been 20 off 11. West Indies are putting the squeeze on.

  7. Eng 60-2published at 9 overs

    Need 117 from 66 balls

England can only take two singles from the ninth over.

Will Jacks and Sam Curran both chew up two dot balls.

The required run-rate is up to 10.64.

  8. Eng 58-2published at 8 overs

    Need 119 from 72 balls

Sam Curran is a left-hander, that is one possible reason for him being promoted. England have tended to like the right and left-hand combination since Matthew Mott became coach.

It is interesting they've opted for Curran over Moeen Ali though.

  9. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2023

Erm, Sam Curran is the new batter.

He's never batted at four before in a T20 international.

England only have seven games after today until the World Cup.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.4 overs

    Salt c Powell b Joseph 25 (Eng 55-2)

Another start and out for Phil Salt.

Alzarri Joseph bangs one into the pitch and Salt takes on the pull. He connects fairly well but it is straight to West Indies captain Rovman Powell at deep mid-wicket.

    It's tight. Very tight.

A reminder West Indies lead the five-match series 1-0 at the moment.

  12. Eng 53-1published at 7 overs

    Need 124 from 78 balls

More left-arm spin for West Indies as Gudakesh Motie comes into the attack.

There's some spin on offer for him too and he's able to restrict England to just two singles.

  13. Eng 51-1published at 6 overs

    Target 177

This tour feels like a big one for Will Jacks. With Jason Roy seemingly unlikely to play for England again and Alex Hales now retired from internationals there is potentially a vacancy at the top of the order in England's white-ball teams.

He latches onto a bit of length to pull just out the reach of deep mid-wicket and pick up four, before he again pierces the off-side field to get another boundary. He's raced up to 20 off 11 balls.

Phil Salt, another who will fancy consolidating a regular spot, slices over short third to end the powerplay. Honours even.

  14. Eng 37-1published at 5 overs

    Need 140 off 90 balls

Will Jacks backs away again and is followed by Akeal Hosein. The England batter misses this time but he's gone so far into the on side the ball slides comfortably past leg stump.

    Two singles end the over.

  15. Eng 35-1published at 4.3 overs

    Target 177

    Shot.

Will Jacks backs aways and cracks through the covers for another boundary.

Jacks, without wanting to jinx it, looks in good touch.

  16. Eng 30-1published at 4 overs

    Target 177

    Hit em!

No! Wide. Only just, but wide at the non-striker's end.

Will Jacks would have been out comfortably as he looks to pinch a single to cover. It was extremely risky - that's probably being kind too. It wasn't on really.

  17. 6 runs

    Eng 26-1published at 3.2 overs

    First six of the innings.

Phil Salt stands still this time and just heaves Jason Holder over square leg.

The required run-rate is back down to 9.06 now.

  18. Eng 20-1published at 3.1 overs

    Good shot from Phil Salt.

He shifts outside off-stump and sweeps Jason Holder past short fine leg and away to the fence.

He knew a decent amount of contact and he was getting a boundary.

  19. Eng 15-1published at 3 overs

    Target 177

Will Jacks is the new batter.

The Surrey batter is off the mark with a glorious back-foot punch through the covers for four. Lovely stuff.

The required run-rate has crept up to 9.53 already.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.2 overs

    Buttler c Mayers b Hosein 5 (Eng 9-1)

    Big breakthrough!

England captain Jos Buttler advances down the track and Akeal Hosein is able to hold back the ball a little bit.

Buttler has to play at it but can only offer him a simple catch to Kyle Mayers in the covers.
