    Mayers c Curran b Woakes 17 (WI 43-1)

    But now Mayers departs!

A slower ball from Chris Woakes and the West Indian opener sends the ball spiralling into the air off the bottom of the bat.

Sam Curran is in the covers and has work to do judging where the ball is going to land, but takes the catch comfortably enough.

    Dispatched!

Kyle Mayers heaves Woakes over mid-wicket for a big six.

  3. WI 37-0published at 5 overs

Sam Curran enters the attack as Jos Buttler makes his first bowling change.

King takes him for two fours, lifting him over the fielding ring to the long off boundary before firing a flat drive past the non-striker and away to the ropes.

  4. WI 29-0published at 4 overs

A bit of a pause with one ball in the over to go - a groundsman comes on to sprinkle sawdust in the footholes of Woakes' run-up.

Upon resumption Brandon King eases a single to backward square to end the over.

  5. WI 27-0published at 3.2 overs

Time for Kyle Mayers to enjoy himself, he hits successive fours off Chris Woakes' first two balls, driving through the covers before pulling viciously past mid-wicket.

  6. 6 runs

    WI 19-0published at 3 overs

    Two in an over!

Skied by King and the ball headed a little straighter than he probably intended - he didn't wholly get hold of it this time.

Harry Brook is riding the boundary and he looks to take the catch at long on, but falls over the boundary as he dives backward - King is safe and onto 16 from 11.

  7. 6 runs

    WI 13-0published at 2.3 overs

    Clouted!

A first six of the innings as Brandon King drops to a knee to slog sweep Moeen over mid-wicket.

The West Indies hit 14 of them on Tuesday, and the boundaries look short enough for similar number today.

  8. WI 7-0published at 2 overs

Chris Woakes takes the ball at the other and starts with a leg side wide past the legs of Brandon King.

The rest of the over is tighter and his penultimate delivery scythes through King, just missing the inside edge.

  9. WI 3-0published at 1 over

Brandon King gets the West Indies under way from the opening delivery, pushing the ball to mid-on.

Kyle Mayers takes three balls to get his eye in, then pushes to mid-off for a single.

Bit of grip of Moeen on this Grenada surface.

  12. Chance of rain?published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2023

We experienced an unexpected rain delay during Tuesday's match that interrupted the West Indies' chase.

There's no suggestion we'll have any such trouble in Grenada, with the BBC forecast indicating a zero percent chase of rain for the next seven hours.

It's 27 degrees out there, but at 72% humidity will be a touch close.

The rest of the games in this series are about them being dominant for longer in the game.

"We have one change, a spinner Gudakesh Motie comes in for Romario Shepherd. If you remember the last game, Romario came off with a niggle in the back of the knee, it's a precaution. He might be back for the third game."

England captain Jos Buttler on TNT Sports: "It looks a good wicket and we fancy a chase today."

On West Indies hitting more sixes in the first game: "We know that is the West Indies style, they are fantastic six hitters. We've got to find ways to limit that. We had a fantastic start with the bat in the last game and we just need to tidy up the back 10 with the bat."

On the team: "We've just got one change with Moeen Ali coming in for Ben Duckett. we wanted to find a way to get him back into the side while retaining the two leg-spinners."

But hold on, the West Indies are in fine fettle in this format and that showed as they beat Jos Buttler's side by four wickets in Barbados.
