  1. Eng 8-0published at 2 overs

    Target 177

This is turning into a tricky start for England.

Phil Salt attempts another heave but ends up completely losing his shape and it goes through to the keeper for a dot ball.

Jos Buttler is cramped to end the over as Jason Holder follows him.

  2. Eng 7-0published at 1.3 overs

Phil Salt needs new gloves nine balls into the innings.

His bat did twist in his hands as he attempted a heave to be fair.

It will be the pace of Jason Holder from the other end to start.

It looks like a really tricky wicket where you get a little bit out of it with the new ball but then when the ball gets softer it becomes a little bit easier to bat.

I reckon it is just about or just above par.

  5. Eng 5-0published at 1 over

    Target 177

    Lovely shot.

Jos Buttler gets a leading edge to his first delivery too, but his second is beautifully placed through the covers for the first boundary of the chase.

There's definitely spin on offer from this surface.

  6. Eng 0-0published at 0.1 overs

"Catchhh", "catchhhh", "get thereeee" scream the West Indies fielders.

Phil Salt looks to turn the first ball into the leg side but ends up sending a leading over just back over the head of the bowler and, fortunately for England, it drops safe.

    Thanks Mike.

West Indies are going to start with the left-arm spin of Akeal Hosein.

    Phil Salt is facing up.

It's almost time for the England innings. Will we see the same power hitting from the tourists? The boundaries look short and inviting - we didn't see anything clipped behind square by the West Indies, it was pure pummelling.

Here's Callum Matthews to take you through the rest of the match.

  9. 'Could be a really challenging chase'published at 19:16 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2023

    Steven Finn
Former England bowler on TNT Sports

Rovman Powell's innings - and the way he targeted Sam Curran - was carnage. He creamed it everywhere.

He read and was inside the mind of Sam Curran and knew what he was going to bowl.

That swung the momentum in West Indies favour and it could be a really challenging total for England to chase.

I really loved Brandon King's innings. It was an innings of two halves, because he weathered the storm of spin and the wickets falling around him.

He picked the balls that he wanted to maximise and went full flow into his shots. I loved the planning that went into the innings and the execution was beautiful.

  12. 'We're pretty happy'published at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2023

West Indies opener Brandon King on TNT Sports: "I found it quite difficult to start. A lot of things were happening, it was low and slow and they were getting spin with the new ball.

"Slower balls were effective on the pitch and they went to them quite early and it didn't make it easy for us. Thankfully we got a good partnership between me and Rovman [Powell].

"It is about trying to put away the bad balls when they came along and thankfully I managed to do it pretty often.

"We set ourselves a target and we're pretty happy with how it panned out."

    WICKETpublished at 20 overs

    Holder c Livingstone b Mills 0 (WI 176-7)

A wicket to finish us up!

He tries to heave Mills over the leg side boundary but can only find the hands of Liam Livingstone in the deep.

Mills finishes with figures of 2-30, while opener Brandon King is unbeaten on 82 from 52.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.5 overs

    Russell b Mills 14 (WI 176-5)

That's the end of Andre Russell!

He's through a pull shot extremely early and Tymal Mills' slower ball clears him up.

One ball to go, here's Jason Holder to finish the innings.

  15. 6 runs

    WI 176-5published at 19.4 overs

Andre Russell misses the third delivery and lets out a cry of frustration.

He'll be happier with the following ball, he's off balance but manages to smear the ball for six over long-off.

  16. WI 170-5published at 19.2 overs

Brandon King, who starts the over on 77, plays a nice classical drive through the covers for four off the opening delivery of Tymal Mills' final over.

He hand then flies off the bat as he swings into square for a single.

  17. WI 165-5published at 19 overs

Chris Woakes reels it back, just two singles coming off his final four deliveries.

His final delivery verges on a wide, but he just about gets away with it.

  18. 6 runs

    WI 163-5published at 18.2 overs

We didn't have to wait at all long for that Andre Russell six, he clouts Chis Woakes into the stands at mid-wicket.

  19. WI 156-5published at 18 overs

Andre Russell came to the crease after Powell's dismissal and he faces for the first time. He hit 29 from 14 on Tuesday - can he offer more bombastic hitting today?

Not from this over, the home side hitting just the four singles off the bowling of Tymal Mills. Here's some trivia - the West Indies haven't run a two or three today, it's all been boundaries or singles.

  20. WI 152-5published at 17 overs

Rehan Ahmed finishes his four overs with a dot ball.

He has figures of 1-47 today, his first two overs went for 12, the second two for 35.
