Double ton and declare looks on the cards. I'm really intrigued to see how England go about this second innings.

  2. Ind 354-4published at 86 overs

    Jaiswal 182, Sarfaraz 28

Ben Stokes shakes his head as Sarfaraz Khan top-edges Rehan Ahmed into a gap between two fielders. That could have gone anywhere.

No sixes come from this over at least.

The record for the most sixes in a Test innings is 12, Wasim Akram v Zimbabwe in 1996. That's going here.

There isn’t a shot that Jaiswal doesn’t play. On these pitches, which don't challenge his off stump technique, he is impossible to contain.

  5. Ind 350-4published at 85 overs

    Lead by 476

Ben Stokes comes in for a chat with Jimmy Anderson. You'd forgive Anderson for just wanting to wander off. He doesn't deserve this.

There is some respite as Jaiswal takes a single to keep the strike at the end of the over.

  6. 6 runs

    Ind 347-4published at 84.4 overs

    Three in a row!

Jaiswal's 10th six in the innings.

  7. 6 runs

    Ind 341-4published at 84.3 overs

Back-to-back sixes off James Anderson for Jaiswal!

He's showing no respect at all.

Pitch not doing too much? Draw is surely on the cards if India declare at tea or later.

  9. Ind 329-4published at 84 overs

    Jaiswal 159, Sarfaraz 26

The field is spread far and wide in this over too but Rehan Ahmed gifts a full toss to Yashasvi Jaiswal. He's in far too good nick to miss out on that, as we have said.

    Clobbered.

I did have a cricketing dream during the last Test. I was entering an online competition by sending in a photo of our dog, Max, to which I added the message, 'Max is a cricketer in the mould of WG Grace'. I'm afraid to say that this is not true, though to be fair, I could imagine Max saying 'They didn't come here to watch you bowl, they came here to watch me steal the ball and then run round with it like an idiot'.

James Anderson, meanwhile, is in defensive mode. He's bowling wide of the stumps with seven of his nine fielders dotted around on one side of the wicket.

Jaiswal's response is to get down low and flick Anderson over his shoulder while tumbling to the ground. This session could be fun or painful, depending on your persuasion.

  12. 150 runs

150 for Yashasvi Jaiswalpublished at 82.3 overs

Proper noise rings around the stadium as Yashasvi Jaiswal moves to 150.

He's scored three hundreds in his seven Tests. All of them have been worth 150 or more.

  13. Ind 314-4published at 06:43 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

    Lead by 440

The second new ball is available but England are yet to use it. If they do Jaiswal might just smash it even further.

James Anderson is going to begin after lunch. Buckle in.

The thing that has impressed me with Jaiswal is how he offers so few chances when he goes for his big shots. He seems to nail every one.

He'll be on the brink of a third score score over 150 in his seven Tests when play resumes in a minute or two.

Stokes 6s per Test match average is 1.28, and Jaiswal 6s per Test match average is 2.85. It's amazing if he keeps that up.

    I don't think so, Shubham.

By the way, does anyone else have dreams including TMS commentators or is that just me?

Talking about draw, do England’s batsmen have the defensive game to play out a draw?

I've become so consumed by this Test series given the early mornings and resulting lack of a social life that Aggers was in my dream last night.

We were both in the Lake District but I can't quite remember what Aggers was doing there.

Dreaming about TMS commentators can't be a good sign.

If Stokes' England stay true to their word, they won't even consider playing for the draw.
