The ball is starting to spin a little bit now. That may not be good for England.

It might also mean we don't see James Anderson get a crack at taking his 700th Test wicket in this innings, and possibly the game.

England's next Test is against West Indies at Lord's from 10 July.

As James Anderson approaches 700 wickets, what is your favourite memory of or with Anderson? Joe from Yorkshire

Jimmy has obviously had so many amazing moments. But, to see what he is doing now is really inspirational to me. He maybe didn’t do as well as he’d like last summer and he has come back more motivated, fitter and stronger and performances have followed and at 41! Legend.

India have lost four wickets for 25 runs now or five for 52. England have battled back in this session.

  4. wicket

    Ashwin b Hartley 0 (Ind 428-8)

    England are on a roll.

It's a lovely piece of bowling from Tom Hartley, sneaking one through the defence of Ravichandran Ashwin and onto middle stump.

That's three wickets for one run in two overs.

  5. Postpublished at 10:13 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

The players are taking drinks at the fall of that wicket.

There are 18.5 overs left in the day so we're likely going to be playing until 11:30 GMT again.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 101.1 overs

    Jadeja lbw b Hartley 15 (Ind 427-7)

    Hitting leg stump.

Ravindra Jadeja is caught on the crease by Tom Hartley and the Lancashire man knew it was close so was pleading with Rod Tucker to get the on-field decision.

It hit Jadeja on the knee roll so height was unlikely to be an issue and the technology shows it's hitting three quarters of the way up leg.

  7. India reviewpublished at 10:09 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Have England got another?

Tom Hartley hits Ravindra Jadeja on the pad and Rod Tucker, after a little bit of thinking time, raises the finger.

Jadeja has a brief chat before sending it upstairs.

It will be really interesting to see how England rank their spinners after this series. Shoaib Bashir probably came in as fourth choice, but it doesn't feel like he's flying home in that position.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the new batter. He and Ravindra Jadeja are normally pretty patient players so England could build pressure here.

Bashir takes his fourth, and he's stuck to his task well. Jurel didn't quite get enough of it but it's well bowled, he's changed his pace well and mixed things up.

I think he's had a good tour generally but India have had a brilliant couple of days.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 100.4 overs

    Jurel c Duckett b Bashir 15 (Ind 427-6)

    Shoaib Bashir has four.

He just finds a way to take wickets, doesn't he?

England have bogged India down slightly in the past 10 overs or so and that leads to a big shot from Dhruv Jurel.

He doesn't connect cleanly though and Ben Duckett settles under it at long-on.

    Thanks Ffion.

This has been a day of toil for England, hasn't it?

They've toiled pretty well though I think. I know that sounds odd at 426-5 but at times on overseas tours it feels like England are chasing the ball everywhere and don't really have a clue what to do next. That hasn't really felt the case today.

Jadeja batting in a cap, exposing his perfectly-trimmed beard, just exudes an effortless level of cool.

And that seems like the perfect note for me to hand over to Callum Matthews to steer you through to the close of play.

It could be a long one. Be nice to him.

You were consistently in the team during a long period of success. How was evolution and learning game-to-game taken into consideration and applied during that period of the regime? Aka are there learnings the team will take from this series that can help make them even better? Angus

Whether you’re winning or you're losing, you are always learning as individuals and as a team. They might not always be spoke out loud. So, yes there was learning going on in that winning period and there will be now too. We chat as a group to park what’s been, good or bad, and get ready for what’s to come. Sometimes after a tough day it’s about reminding ourselves what we are about when we are doing things well and getting back to that as quickly as possible whether that be mindset or tactical. Being in the moment you're in is really important.

Half an appeal for an lbw on Jadeja, but it's going down leg. Ben Stokes contemplates a review, but replays show he's hit it as well.

Just one run from the over as Bashir continues his fine spell.

  15. Ind 420-5published at 98 overs

    And the lead passes 200.

England have fought well but if it wasn't out of hand already, it certainly is now.

I feel with Lyon now going to be playing for Lancashire, Hartley will need to move on and play regularly if he's to stay in this England team. He's shown glimpses of real talent in this series but needs to be playing if he's to be considered again.

Jadeja and Jurel are just settling in as India's lead approaches 200.

I'm not sure we'll get a declaration at any point. They're going to be ruthless, with three whole days left to wear England down.

The DJ in Dharamsala has been in fantastic form the past few days.

The variety is quite something. We've had the macarena, 'Livin' on a Prayer', some Whitney Houston and recently 'It Wasn't Me'.

    Something for everyone, I guess.

I think the inexperience of Shoaib Bashir and Tom Hartley has been forgotten at times. It has been a really hard tour but they're literally learning on the job.

All things considered, the signs from both of them are very positive.

Really like the look of Bashir. He’s gone for a few today as the Indians have attacked him. But he keeps putting the ball up there and has taken wickets. That’s a good sign. The future is bright for him and I’d say he looks the slightly better prospect of all our young spinners.
