    Notts 293 v Essex 253 & 261-6

Three balls after a tea... and a wicket!

Calvin Harrison gets Paul Walter playing forward, it takes the edge and that is an excellent grab at slip by Ben Duckett.

Walter did a great job after lunch, but he cannot add to his fine 79.

  2. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 7 April

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 222-2

Danny Briggs will continue to bowl from the Birmingham End to see us through this session of play.

Jake Libby (on 68) tries to push the ball through the off side but without piercing the field.

Warwickshire will be relieved to have finally prized out Kashif Ali for a second magnificent century in this match but the Pears remain in a great position, leading by 249.

Rob Jones goes into tea on seven not out.

Matt Parkinson has been the pick of the bowlers in that session, it's been fascinating to watch him.

But Somerset are in a fantastic position.

50 for James Coles on the stroke of teapublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 7 April

    Sussex 176-3 v Northants 371

James Coles completes a 73-ball half-century with a confident sweep in front of square off Rob Keogh for a single.

Five fours and a six in that knock. It's the sixth half-century of his career.

Tom Haines sees out the rest of the over - and that's tea at Hove.

  5. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 7 April

    Kent 284 v Somerset 202-2

Somerset have the advantage at tea on day three against Kent.

Opener Matt Renshaw (66) was the only batter to fall in the afternoon session, bowled by the impressive Matt Parkinson, but Tom Lammonby and Lewis Goldsworthy have made good progress after that.

Lammonby heads off 85 not out and 15 runs away from a seventh first-class century.

  6. 'Nice gesture from the Warwickshire lads'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 7 April

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 208-2

A wonderful innings from Kashif Ali.

It was a nice gesture from the Warwickshire lads to say well done. You can't do anything else.

It's put Worcestershire in a wonderful position.

  7. Postpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 7 April

    Yorkshire 72-2 v Leicestershire 354 - delayed start

The rain has relented for now in Leeds and they're going to try to get started at 16:30 BST, with 32 overs scheduled.

  8. Tea at Lord'spublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 7 April

    Middlesex 369-4 v Glamorgan 620-3 dec

Zain-ul-Hassan and his part-time seam with the last ball before tea.

Ryan Higgins hits a lovely shot off the back foot for four and will have a cup of tea - and maybe some cake - on 83 not out.

He has added 96 with Jack Davies, who is on 34.

Middlesex have lost only Leus du Plooy in this session as they go the right way about saving this game.

The deficit is 251, but more importantly the follow-on target is only 102 away now.

  9. Postpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 7 April

    Sussex 175-3 v Northants 371

James Coles is batting with increasing confidence, clipping Procter in front of square leg for four.

He gets four more off a thick edge wide of the lone slip and down to third man.

Northants still have a healthy lead but a wicket feels a distant prospect at the moment.

Zaib nearly foxes Haines with an arm ball as the batter misses a pull and is struck on the thigh pad. He survives on 92.

  10. 'That was not an easy catch from Booth'published at 15:59 British Summer Time 7 April

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 208-2

    Phil Britt
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

Michael Booth got under it and you would have backed against him holding that I have to say.

I thought looking the way the wind is blowing, that was not an easy catch but he took it and steadied himself well in the end.

  11. 200 runs

up for Somersetpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 7 April

    Kent 284 v Somerset 201-2

Tom Lammonby and Lewis Goldsworthy have put on 59 for the third wicket and taken Somerset past 200.

The deficit now is under 100 and the visitors are looking good.

In usual circumstances Somerset would be favourites for victory but, given we lost the first day to bad weather and this is effectively a three-day game now, it might end up that time is not on their side.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby gets the prize wicket with a short ball that Kashif Ali pulls high over mid wicket.

He hasn't quite timed it and Michael Booth makes good ground to take the ball in front of the rope at deep square leg.

An extraordinary innings of touch, class and derring-do comes to an end.

It's been an honour to witness.

    Rob Jones to bat next.

Kashif Ali drives to backward point for one to take Worcestershire to 200 in the 40th over.

The last ball of the over is short and launched over mid wicket by Ali for six. Time to put fielders in the stands.

Jake Libby takes a single in the next over off Oliver Hannon-Dalby to bring up a 200 partnership with Ali in 229 balls.

He clubs one for four and then smashes one over the ropes at the short midwicket boundary for six.

Paul Walter eases another one and that is 11 for the over.

A brilliant session for Essex - 123 runs without losing a wicket as Matt Critchley and Walter have moved them 221 runs ahead.

Saif Zaib is put to the sword by Sussex as James Coles is down the track to launch the spinner down the ground for a six that takes Sussex past 150 in the 44th over.

Four runs to Haines three balls later with a back foot drive through extra cover.

With Jamie Porter, Sam Cook and Simon Harmer in the attack, they are going to have something to work with in the fourth innings.
