Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are about six laps difference in terms of when those tyres went on so the real performance difference may not really emerge until the closing laps.

Down to Turn One they go and Max Verstappen suffers a little lock-up. It's not enough to throw him off his stride completely, however, and Lando Norris will have to try again.
The pair reach Turn 12 again and still the Red Bull stays ahead! They trade blows as the corners tick by but Verstappen has a firm grip on that third place.
The noise is starting to increase from the grandstands - the crowd want an overtake!
Lando Norris is certainly trying and as they reach Turn 12, the Briton is the closest he has been to the Red Bull. Can he seal the deal? Not on this lap.
Lando Norris is creeping up behind the Red Bull but Max Verstappen is swatting away any advances from the McLaren. The final podium spot is still in the hands of the Dutchman.

The fans in stands are being treated to a great show by Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. The Mclaren has DRS and is eating in to the three-time world champion's advantage, but the perfect place to attack hasn't presented itself, yet...

Are we going to see Ferrari step in and allow their drivers to race or are they going to dictate exactly how it plays out and get them to stay in position?
George Russell is up to eighth and has just banked the fastest lap and is now closing in on Nico Hulkenberg for seventh. The returning Liam Lawson also started at the back of the grid and is now looking at scoring points in Austin.
The battle for third - not first - is on between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. The McLaren is trying to take further points out of his rivals championship tally but so far, the Red Bull is staying ahead.

If Norris can gradually and incrementally close up to the back of that Red Bull car of Max Verstappen and get to the DRS range, we know how powerful it is, he could still find his way ahead of his title rival, and instead of that gap opening in the championship he might close it by a tiny amount.

George Russell heads into the pits and is back out in eighth place on the mediums. Franco Colapinto needs to keep his wits about him, as Kevin Magnussen is on the hunt for his 11th spot.
There was a brief yellow flag for a spin for Yuki Tsunoda, but the RB man saves his blushes and continues on his way.
Franco Colapinto has put in a long stint on his starting hard tyres, and now the Argentine gets to change his boots for the medium rubber. He's back out in 12th, behind RB's Yuki Tsunoda.
Worth pointing out that, if the positions hold like this, Ferrari will move within four points of Red Bull for second in the constructors' championship.
Charles Leclerc, who started fourth in Austin, is over six seconds clear of Ferrari team-mate Carlos Sainz in second.
Over at Haas, Kevin Magnussen is told to box, quite aggressively, by his engineer. The Dane is in and out quickly with medium tyres, but it's dropped him down to 13th, and lifted Liam Lawson up to the points in 10th.
