    Championship top

Sheffield United didn't have it all their own way, but got back to winning ways at the first opportunity, seeing off QPR to close the gap on Leeds to three points, after the Whites were held at home by West Bromwich Albion at lunchtime.

A good day for Coventry, whose win at Oxford United earlier saw them climb to fifth, with Albion, Blackburn, Watford and Norwich all having to settle for a point on the day.

Oh, and look at Middlesbrough, they were in the bottom half last weekend, now they're back within three points of the top five.

  2. 'One mistake cost Derby'published at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Derby

    Malcolm Christie
Former Derby striker on BBC Radio Derby

    That one mistake cost us.

You don't want to give the ball to the opposition in your own penalty box, and the one player you don't want it to fall to is Finn Azaz.

We made the changes at the right time, but it's another tale of us falling away from 75 minutes onwards.

We never really threatened Mark Travers in their goal, there was no real clear cut chances.

  3. 'What a result'published at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Derby

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

    What a result.

In this first half we controlled the game for large periods.

I thought we were the better side but the goal comes from a giveaway from one of their players.

Well... the second half was better at least.

Egil Selvik's fine late save denied Bae Junho's late header while Giorgi Chakvetadze came closest for the Hornets, though Stoke defender Ben Wilmot's header came back off his own post too.

A point apiece, we move on...

LUTON WIN FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 20 DECEMBER!

A first win for Matt Bloomfield as the Hatters' manager as well.

The Hatters are off the bottom of the Championship, in fact, they have leapfrogged Derby AND Plymouth.

Pompey remain nine points above the drop zone. They shouldn't be looking over their shoulders but their three-match winning streak has come to an end.

The Blades are back within three points of the summit.

Ben Brereton Diaz put them on their way and, despite Michael Cooper needing to make a series of saves, Tyrese Campbell's superb blast looked to have made the points safe after the break.

However Michael Frey's cool penalty kept the game in the balance until the very end.

United's London hoodoo seems to be over. QPR fall further adrift in the play-off race.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Derby

Boro had their patience tested but they win for the second time this week to move up to eighth and two points shy of the play-off places.

Finn Azaz with the only goal as Derby slip to the bottom of the Championship - they are four points adrift of safety.

  8. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Derby

Boro almost secure the three points in stoppage time as Delano Burgzorg hits the post.

    It shouldn't matter too much.

  10. Postpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time

    QPR 1-2 Sheff Utd

Well into SIX added minutes in W12.

Sheffield United are trying to hold what they have. Ben Brereton Diaz has gone off, with Rob Holding coming on to try to prevent another late comeback.

  11. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16:49 Greenwich Mean Time

    Luton 1-0 Portsmouth

    Luton want a penalty!

Jordan Clark cuts in from the left and sees Regan Poole's dangling leg in front of him. He goes to ground but referee Sam Allison waves the shout away.

If the Hatters can't hold on that will be a huge moment. Six minutes have been added on.

  12. Postpublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time

    QPR 1-2 Sheff Utd

Into the dying seconds of normal time at Loftus Road, can the hosts cause the Blades more late woe this week?

  13. Postpublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

It's Stoke who are on top now.

Egil Selvik is called into his first real action as Junior Tchamadeu's cross from the dead ball line is met by a fine header from Bae Junho, only for the Norwegian to produce a flying save to keep it out of his top corner.

    Stoke smell blood here...

  14. Postpublished at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time

    Luton 1-0 Portsmouth

Oh this is going to be an agonising few minutes for Luton fans.

Christian Saydee's delivery from the right picks out Connor Ogilvie, but the header goes just over the crossbar.

The full-back should have hit the target from six yards.

  15. Postpublished at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time

    Stoke 0-0 Watford

Potters sub Million Manhoef had the chance to stroke his side ahead, meeting a pass from Sam Gallagher on his left-foot near the penalty spot, but can only steer his effort straight at Hornets keeper Egil Selvik.

Can either side find a late goal in this bonkers division which has seen so many of them in the past few weeks?

  16. Postpublished at 16:42 Greenwich Mean Time

    Luton 1-0 Portsmouth

Kenilworth Road is feeling very nervous, but Portsmouth aren't creating the golden chance they need to turn this match around.

Cohen Bramall's cross is caught by Thomas Kaminski, and a sigh of relief for the Hatters.

Into the last five minutes. It will feel like five days in Bedfordshire.

Are they about to pick up their first win since 20 December?!

  17. CLOSE!published at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time

    QPR 1-2 Sheff Utd

A chance for the visitors to put the game to bed on the break as we enter the final 10 minutes of normal time, but Ben Brereton Diaz fires wide of Paul Nardi's far post after meeting a cut-back from Tom Cannon from the left in plenty of space in the box.

All the hard work and the efforts have been thrown away.

Hopefully we see a reaction from Derby, we've often seen that at times this season.

    Finally!

Aidan Morris's ball from the left comes for Kelechi Iheanacho, but his effort is blocked into the path of Finn Azaz. The Irishman lashes the ball into the roof of the net.

Derby's resolve is finally over, they haven't won a match having conceded the first goal this season.
