Into a headwind, Katusha are controlling the pace, with their man Alexander Kristoff in mind.
3.2km to go
Elmiger and Roy's jaunt in the lead is over as they are absorbed into the peloton. The pair share nice handshake.
The increase in pace has seen a few groups fall off the back of the peloton - nobody of note in there.
4.3km to go
The green jersey of Peter Sagan has nipped to the front now, not sure he wants to be there.
4.7km to go
It's Luke Rowe for Team Sky pulling along the peloton, with Chris Froome's yellow jersey behind a few Lotto Soudal riders.
The gap is down to 14secs.
5.6km to go
Tinkoff, Team Sky, Lotto Soudal and Dimension Data all take up a place at the front of the peloton - they're still 26 seconds behind the pair in the break.
6.3km to go
The crowds start to grow on the side of the road. It's got a more family friendly feel to it than the mayhem up Mont Ventoux.
7.3km to go
Cesare Benedetti is the next man to be eaten by the peloton. They've still got two fellas up the road to catch, though.
8.2km to go
They're being a bit pesky these two - I reckon they think they can hold off the peloton.
They are likely to be disappointed.
8.8km to go
Martin Elmiger decides to pump the legs and Jeremy Roy keeps up, but Cesare Benedetti doesn't have the puff.
That leaves two men in the break, 30 seconds ahead of the peloton.
10.5km to go
Cesare Benedetti, Martin Elmiger and Jeremy Roy still have a 35-second lead on the peloton.
The turns are becoming more frequent now - so easy does it.
11.1km to go
Lotto Soudal will be making room for their sprint man Andre Greipel, while Dimension Data have a stage win for Mark Cavendish on their minds.
11.8km to go
Alex Howes has been gobbled up by the peloton, which is fronted by Dimension Data on the left flank and Lotto Soudal on the right.

It's not been an easy day today.
With the amount of fatigue that has set in, it's a hot day as well.
It's by no means what you'd call an active recovery day for the riders.
13.9km to go
Alex Howes is struggling to keep up with his breakaway buddies and they've dropped him off the back.

16.1km to go
That gap has grown a bit again - up to 36 seconds. The timing of sucking in this breakaway needs to be perfect.
16.6km to go
Rob Hatch, who you can listen to by clicking the audio button at the top of the page, has told us to look out for Samuel Dumoulin in the sprint.
He's from down the road in Venissiuex so knows the area and is a bit of a pocket rocket.
