    Dan McLay.

A man who is taking the Jamie Vardy route to cycling success. He rides for a small budget French team but without any of the resources of Mark Cavendish, Marcel Kittel or Andre Griepel has managed to get four top-10 finishes including coming in in third in Montauban.

If you fancied an outside bet to top off an already outrageous Tour de France for British riders then you could stick cash on him surprising everyone but himself on the Champs Elysees.

Peace has broken out across the peloton - it's like Christmas Day in the trenches. At the front of the group Tinkoff riders are chatting with BMC riders, best of enemies. Frenemies, if you will.

The man, the myth, the hair.

We've spoken about how difficult Chris Froome is to beat, but when it comes to dominance, Peter Sagan is the king of jungle - and he has the mane to prove it.

Not one to shy away from the cameras, the Slovak slugger is riding at the front of the peloton with some Tinkoff team-mates.

The last time the green jersey was not on his back at the end of a Tour was 2011, when a certain Mark Cavendish won it. Ridiculous.

Team Sky boss Dave Brailsford spoke to the BBC earlier about how many Tours Chris Froome has left in the tank.

"I think a lot of how far he can go will be about how much he can retain his desire and hunger to keep on making all of the sacrifices necessary to keep performing at this level.

"Physically I could see him going for another three or four years at the highest level. So it’ll be more about him and his mindset and desire. Having said that there seems to be no signs of that abating and he seems as hungry as ever.”

The peloton has crept out of Chantilly and through sunburned countryside and now flows into Moiselles.

Fans lining the road click away with their camera phones and the yellow jersey of Chris Froome plods by.

It could have been renamed the Tour of Britain, if that weren't already a thing.

Chris Froome in the yellow jersey, Adam Yates in the white jersey, four stage wins for Mark Cavendish, a stage win for Steve Cummings and four incredibly surprising top-10 finishes for Dan McLay.

Seven of the 20 stages so far have been won by a British rider.

But which Brit has had the most impressive Tour - is Froome the obvious answer, or would you put forward someone else?

Very little of note occurring in the peloton. Two men who were out in front for much of yesterday's stage have resumed that position - Roman Kreuziger and Vibcenzo Nibali are leading everyone out and nattering away while they do it.

The pace is not snail-like, but maybe tortoise-like.

This is the reason the team are so strong. You can have the best coaches in the world but once the athlete is out on the bike there is very little you can do. Ultimately Chris Froome has to deliver and he has in spades.

Ay up, Chris Froome has gone to the Team Sky car and slotted a few brewskis into his back pocket. Good lad, getting the round in.

He passes around the beers to his team-mates and there's the clink of glass bottles and frothy Belgian nectar flows.

    I bet that tastes good.
