  8. Majka wins 10 KOM pointspublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

Rafal Majka stays away solo to cross the summit of the Pic de Nore alone.

He wins 10 points in the king of the mountains classification - I make it that that takes him from 11th to fifth in that competition, now on 28 points.

Can he stay away to the finish?

Rafal Majka drives up onto a very exposed, narrow road and now just has 1km to go to the summit.

He leads the chasers by 40 seconds.

Jeez. A fan nearly stumbles into Rafal Majka inside the final 2km of the climb.

Fortunately the Pole gets through unscathed and shakes his head. The fan gets an angry shove from the following motorbike rider.

Team Sky are grinding away up the Pic de Nore on the front of the peloton, Geraint Thomas safely ensconced in the line.

Dan Martin is now 34 seconds up the road. He's nearly seven minutes down on Thomas on GC so Team Sky won't be too bothered about his grabbing a bit of time back.

But what about the rest of the top 10?

  12. Postpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

Rafal Majka has built a 30-second lead over nine chasing riders on the Pic de Nore.

The Pole, who has three Tour stage wins and won the polka dot jersey in 2014 and 2016, has 3km to go to the summit.

  13. Postpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

Dan Martin has a lead of 16 seconds over the peloton with still around 56km to go. Brave.

Rafal Majka catches Julien Bernard and eventually rides away from the Frenchman.

The Bora rider has 5.5km to go to the summit of the Pic de Nore.

The peloton are now 13'38'' behind him on the lower slopes.

  15. Martin attackspublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

This is interesting. Ireland's Dan Martin, currently 10th on general classification, has attacked the peloton on the lower slopes of the Pic de Nore.
