If only that was the real race, eh Movistar.

Jumbo-Visma are driving the yellow jersey group.

Castroviejo is also back on for Ineos. How much can he help Thomas?

Soler goes too now. Landa is away solo.

  4. Amador droppedpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Andrey Amador has done all he can. He drops back on the lower slopes and Marc Soler now has to pace Mikel Landa up to Nairo Quintana.

  5. Postpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Yates and Geschke lead a group of chasers including Bardet and Quintana by 1:38.

Landa and two Movistar team-mates Soler and Amador are 30 seconds further back.

The yellow jersey group including Thomas are a minute further down the road.

  6. Prat d'Albispublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Simon Yates and Simon Geschke are onto the final climb - the category one Prat d'Albis.

A 11.8km climb at 6.9% average gradient, with two very hefty sections over 9% gradient.

It's the first time this climb has been used in the Tour de France.

Still Simons Geschke and Yates put time into the chasers. The gap is up to 1:35 as they approach the lower slopes of the Prat d'Albis.

Landa, Amador and Soler are now just 50 seconds down on Quintana's group. They are about a minute in front of the yellow jersey group.

Perhaps Movistar have managed this well - as long as they stay clear and help Landa and Quintan can at least a minute on GC today.

  9. Postpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Astana are giving it go off the front of the yellow jersey group, trying to splinter it for their leader Jakob Fuglsang.

The Nairo Quintana- Romain Bardet chase group has swollen to 10 riders, because of their lack of cohesion.

Quintana puts his hand on the back of Bardet's team-mate Tony Gallopin but the Frenchman barks at him again for not riding.

The Colombian has lost a lot of friends in this break by refusing to ride, with three Movistar team-mates trying to make contact behind him.

Team Ineos' Dylan van Baarle has made it back on to the yellow jersery group on this descent.

Julian Alaphilippe has to drop back to his team car to get all the supplies he needs for the final climb because he has no team-mates left.

He's defied expectations all Tour long but this is another feat entirely to mix it with the best climbers without any lieutenants.

  12. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

    Simon Yates is flying.

He's putting time into the Quintana and Landa groups on this descent.

Simon Geschke and Simon Yates lead the chasing pack by one minute into the final 20km of stage 15.

They need to take as much of a gap as possible onto the brutal final climb.

  15. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

So it looks currently like Movistar will get four riders up the road together in front of the yellow jersey group but neither Landa nor Quintana are going to be able to take back much time.

    Classic Movistar.

Chris Saunders: Weather update from the finish line, it is now pouring down, there is definitely no nice weather up here. Be fun cycling back down to Foix afterwards.

I very much doubt Bardet and Quintana like each other at all.

Their chase group isn't functioning at all. Geschke and Yates now lead by 56 seconds

  19. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Landa and Soler have now joined up with Movistar team-mate Amador.

Can they bridge the 90 seconds or so to reach Quintana too?

The overall favourites aren't too fussed about Landa as it stands, the Spaniard is over six minutes down on GC.

Gaudu has made it back to the yellow jersey group. Another domestique for Pinot.
