Mikel Landa has bridged across to Movistar team-mate Marc Soler and they have 30 seconds on the yellow jersey group.

The front of the break hasn't come back together on the descent - Simon Yates and Simon Geschke have managed to stay clear.

It's partly because Nairo Quitana is refusing to do his turn in the chase, perhaps mindful Landa and Soler are coming up from behind.

Romain Bardet is FUMING and gesticulates at the Colombian.

  7. Postpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

An elite break should get back together on the descent now.

George Bennett is struggling now to keep up with the pace being set by his Jumbo-Visma team-mate Laurens de Plus.

The favourites are not going to have many domestiques left for this final climb.

Bennett has just hung on to the back of the yellow jersey group over the Mur de Peguere and will try to conserve some energy on the descent.

  8. Geschke wins 10 KOM pointspublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Simon Geschke holds on to roll over the summit of the Mur de Peguere in first place.

That lands him 10 king of the mountains points.

Simon Yates follows seconds later - that bags him eight points but he's only concerned with the stage win really.

Romain Bardet, who is chasing the polka dot jersey, takes third and claims six points.

  9. Postpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Mikel Landa is kicking on, using dropped breakaway riders as milestones to aim at.

  10. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Yates can see Geschke now with 700m to the summit.

Yates' attack is splintering the chasing group. Dan Martin is slipping back.

  11. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Jumbo-Visma have reeled in Jakob Fuglsang.

Mikel Landa still has 10 seconds or so on the yellow jersey group.

  12. Yates attackspublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Simon Yates is spinning away from the big chasing group and is setting off in pursuit of Simon Geschke, with 1km to go to the summit.

  13. Gaudu droppedpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

David Gaudu is being shelled out the back of the favourites.

A bit of a blow for Thibaut Pinot - but crucially he has Sebastien Reichenbach and Rudy Molard up the road.

If they can conserve some energy and go again, Pinot will have two support riders for the final climb.

  14. Postpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Jumbo-Visma are now working on the front of the group of favourites in service of Steven Kruijswijk.

Simon Geschke still driving on alone off the front - he has 1.5km to the summit of the Mur de Peguere.

  15. Postpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

And now Michal Kwiatkowski is dropped!

Geraint Thomas only has Wout Poels and Egan Bernal with him now.

Thibaut Pinot has two team-mates still up the road.

  16. Postpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Riders are being shelled back all over the road now.

Team Ineos' Jonathan Castroviejo, GIanni Moscon and Dylan van Baarle have cracked.

  17. Yates droppedpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Simon Yates is still in the big group up the road that are just behind lone leader Simon Geschke.

But twin brother Adam is having another bad day and has been dropped by the big GC hitters.

  18. Landa attackspublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

And the contenders have spotted Alaphilippe is isolated now.

Mikel Landa goes and Jakob Fuglsang comes with him.

They are a long way back on GC so have to try something bold from distance.

  19. Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

Still a long way to go in this stage but this is a crucial period.

Julian Alaphilippe only has Dries Devenyns with him now.

Remember, the Frenchman's usual mountain support Enric Mas is having a terrible day and is nearly seven minutes back down the road.

Simon Geschke is climbing so slowly you could walk alongside him on this section.
