There were whispers that Roglic's team were 'expecting' to lose 1:30 to Pogacar today. That could well have been sandbagging anyway, but Pogacar is going to have to produce something stunning to get that much on him.

Kasper Asgreen couldn't keep up the pace and goes through the second time check 17 seconds down on Stefan Kung.
Geraint Thomas goes through the first time check 25 seconds down on the fastest mark.
The Ineos Grenadiers rider needs a huge middle section to save his race ambitions here.
Jonas Vingegaard has slipped back a bit on the middle section - but he's still only five seconds down on Stefan Kung at the second time check.
Primoz Roglic has taken a battering this Tour but he's putting in a very impressive, defiant ride so far.
He goes through the first time check just six seconds down on Asgreen and Vingegaard.
The middle section seems to be the toughest of the three parts to this course, so plenty of work to do still.

Primoz Roglic is more bandage than man beneath his skinsuit, having sustained a lot of damage in crashes over the first few days.
He doesn't look very comfortable on his TT bike - the opposite of Stefan Kung's smooth, precise style.
We'll have to wait for the first time check to see if that discomfort is translating to lost time.

That's 36 seconds faster than Mattia Cattaneo.
And a very high bar has been set for all the big names yet to start.
