It's a course that will really suit the biggest engines today.

Current yellow jersey Mathieu van der Poel barely does any TT training and hasn't ridden many of them competitively before.

He understandably then has talked down his chances of keeping hold of the lead today and reckons his rival across formats for many years, Wout van Aert, at 31 seconds down, is the favourite to take the jersey today.

After the first 85 riders to reach the finish, UAE Team Emirates' Mikkel Bjerg currently holds the fastest time - covering the course in 33 minutes one second.

EF Education-Nippo's Stefan Bissegger - who won the TT at Paris-Nice - has recently gone second, 21 seconds back on Bjerg.

Welcome to live coverage of stage five of the 2021 Tour de France.

A key day for the overall contenders for this year's yellow jersey as they face a 27.2km individual time trial.

Expect to see a shake-up in the top 10 of the general classification and riders like Geraint Thomas and Primoz Roglic attempting to regain time lost during a crash-marred first wek.

Plus there's a stage win up for grabs - will one of the big name GC riders claim it or an out-and-out specialist against the clock?
