Dan Mousley departs - in the general direction of Moseley, after being given out leg before wicket.
It is a second wicket of the innings for Dane Paterson.
Warwickshire still trail Nottinghamshire by 316 runs as new man Jacob Bethell comes to the crease.
Still 33 overs to come today after this one - and the Bears still need a further 167 to ensure that Notts must bat again in this match.
And Paterson is close to another wicket with an LBW shout against Bethell.
Notts 400, Warwickshire 83-3
A watchful start to the day for Ed Barnard and Dan Mousley following the late start in Birmingham.
Most interesting observation so far is confirmation from the BBC's Clive Eakin as to the correct prononciation of Mousley's name.
He has (once again) checked with the player - and, definitively, it is pronounced not as in Mouse, or Muesli, but Mose-ley, as per the nearby Birmingham district, the rugby club, or the bespectacled former Somerset and West Indies fast bowler - take your pick!

127 runs in the session, for the loss of four wickets, chiefly vice captain Jake Libby for 97.
Still 37 overs left to bowl today.
How many more ahead will the hosts be by then?
Gloucs 322 v Middlesex 203 & 66-2
A lively afternoon session, with Middlesex finishing off Gloucestershire's first innings in double quick time and then losing both openers with just nine on the board.
Max Holden and Leus du Plooy have begun the visitors' rebuilding job, adding 57 so far and the pair have scored 26 and 22 respectively, but they still trail Gloucestershire by 53.
Somerset 309-9 dec, Worcestershire 311-5
With one over left before tea, Worcestershire take the lead.
Gareth Roderick has now moved on to 108.

There were a lot of puddles on the outfield earlier and things did not look great. but the ground staff have worked very hard as they always do.
They have got us in a position to get us under way except that it has got dark as it has been all day and hopefully those clouds will quickly disappear.
If Notts were to get some quick wickets, they could put Warwickshire under some pressure.
Gloucs 322 v Middlesex 203 & 52-2
Zaman Akhter is feeling frustrated right now - he's had three decent lbw appeals turned down against Leus du Plooy in one over and just to rub it in, the batter drives him through the covers for four.
It's been quite a duel between these two so far as Middlesex attempt to rebuild before tea, but they're still trailing by 67.
Notts 400, Warwickshire 72-3
After almost 24 hours of no cricket, we are now under way again in Birmingham as Notts paceman Dane Paterson bowls the first ball of the day.
Ed Barnard quickly gets the first run of the day.
Somerset 309-9 dec, Worcestershire 300-5
Gareth Roderick reaches his 10th first-class century - and his fourth for Worcestershire.
All achieved in 194 balls.
And that is followed by the 300 coming up to earn the Pears a second batting point.
Surrey 358 v Hampshire 151 & 31-2
Welcome news from south London, where the umpires have inspected the Oval pitch and decided the game can resume in just over half an hour's time.
Surrey's bowlers will be itching to get out there, with Hampshire on 31-2 in their second innings and still 177 runs behind.
Somerset 309-9 dec, Worcestershire 298-5
Adam Hose is out.
After seven fours and a six, his innings comes to an end on 39 as he edges Jake Ball to Lewis Gregory at second slip - and the Somerset skipper takes a sharp catch.
Pears captain Brett D'Oliveira is the new man in.
Gloucs 322 v Middlesex 203 & 36-2
Leus du Plooy looked really unsettled during that previous over from Zaman Akhter, but he seems more focused now on the job in hand.
The left-hander lifted the shackles by turning Akhter to the long leg boundary and then punching him through the covers for four more as Middlesex look to bounce back from losing those two early wickets.
Max Holden has joined Du Plooy in the visitors' bid to counter-attack, hooking successive Marchant de Lange deliveries for four and six.
Somerset 309-9 dec, Worcestershire 282-4
New man in Adam Hose has made a rapid start.
28 - all in boundaries. Two in that one over from Kasey Aldridge, which went for 10.
It looks like the ball has ended up,in the railway cutting again - and we may need another.
Durham 358 v Essex 314-3
The ground staff did their best but unfortunately umpires Rob White and David Millns have decided, after a pitch inspection, that it's not enough for them to let play resume today.
Another sleepless night for Essex's Nick Browne, then, who was 94 not out at stumps yesterday.
Hopefully he'll be back out there tomorrow, with the visitors still 44 runs behind Durham's first-innings total.
Somerset 309-9 dec, Worcestershire 274-4

It's very probably that the Somerset coaching staff and captain Lewis Gregory must be thinking - why did we wait so long to bring on Shoaib Bashir into the attack?
Because he's really changed the game since he's come on.
Gloucs 322 v Middlesex 203 & 16-2
Zaman Akhter joins the Gloucestershire attack, replacing Dom Goodman - but he only sends down a single ball before there's a delay, with Leus du Plooy taking a blow on the hand.
Du Plooy calls for something to be brought out from the dressing room and, having resumed his guard after a lengthy delay, attempts a wild pull shot at the next delivery and appears to edge it into his own face.
This over could take quite a while to complete...
Notts 400, Warwickshire 71-3
Officlal news now in that the Edgbaston pitch has passed an inspection - and that they are now to make a 16:00 BST start in Birmingham.
It will be four hours later than they managed to get started 16 miles further west at Chester Road, which is probably a great tribute to the Kidderminster groundstaff.
Gloucs 322 v Middlesex 203 & 14-2
This has been a terrific opening spell by Ajeet Singh Dale, repeatedly beating the outside edge and conceding just three runs from his first five overs.
The Gloucestershire seamer has also picked up the wicket of Mark Stoneman without scoring to leave the visitors very much on the back foot.
