    Luke Humphries 2-5 Nathan Aspinall

This definitely hasn't been Luke Humphries' best night.

He busts looking to take out 25, but Nathan Aspinall is unable to take 88 and it allows the world champion to come back.

He takes out double eight for a 17-dart leg and stay in the match.

    Luke Humphries 1-5 Nathan Aspinall

This has been superb from Nathan Aspinall.

Luke Humphries just isn't getting enough two-treble visits to put pressure on Aspinall.

Aspinall finds treble 17 and then double 18 for another break.

Nathan Aspinall gets down to 144. Does he take it on? He doesn't need to with Humphries back on 177.

    Of course he does, though.

    Treble 20, treble 20, double 12.

Lovely stuff. Aspinall is two legs away from a second successive nightly final.

We've said it before and we'll say it again - you need a little bit of luck [to win]. Luke will be kicking himself.

    Luke Humphries 1-3 Nathan Aspinall

"Stand up if you love the darts" rings out around the shed-like Westpoint Exeter.

Luke Humphries is on 147 and there's pressure on him with Nathan Aspinall on 76. He doesn't go though and Aspinall has a chance to break again. His attempt at double tops is extremely low...

Humphries can't take out 16 though and he'll be annoyed at that. He's undone that break and gifted Aspinall another.

  7. Humphries breaks backpublished at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February

    Luke Humphries 1-2 Nathan Aspinall

Luke Humphries is up and running.

He's left with 95 but Nathan Aspinall is back on 189.

He could split and set up but the world number one is clinical and finds double 14 for a 12-dart break.

    Luke Humphries 0-2 Nathan Aspinall

There's a brief pause for Nathan Aspinall as an insect of some sort flies around the board.

The Asp is able to put pressure on the Humphries throw and gets the chance to check out 78.

He goes high on double tops though and it gives Humphries a chance.

The world champion can't take out 92 and Aspinall comes back to break with double tops.

  9. Aspinall holdspublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February

    Luke Humphries 0-1 Nathan Aspinall

Luke Humphries immediately puts pressure on the Nathan Aspinall throw. He gets down to the bull for a 130 checkout but can only find the outer bull.

It means Aspinall has to check out his 76 and the Stockport man finds double tops to do so.

These two met in the quarter-finals on night three in Glasgow.

    Humphries won that game 6-3.

Will we get the same result here? Aspinall has undoubtedly found some form since then.

The UK Open, often described as "the FA Cup of darts", gets under way in Minehead on Friday.

Players enter at various stages of the event based on their PDC ranking, however, an open draw means anyone can face anyone... so we could easily see world number one Luke Humphries take on second-ranked Michael van Gerwen when they both enter in the last 64.

England's Andrew Gilding (pictured) is the defending champion - he won his first major televised title by beating Van Gerwen in a deciding leg in last year's final.

You can follow live text commentary on the BBC Sport website and app throughout Sunday, with coverage taking in the four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final.

All the winners tonight have looked geniuses at some point. How simple Luke Littler can make the game look, he's up there with Adrian Lewis, Michael Smith, Gary Anderson... When he plays like that and when the first dart goes in, it looks effortless.

The way Rob Cross played as well, that game could be incredible.

Result: Luke Littler 6-2 Michael Smith

Luke Littler averaged 106.97 in that win. Michael Smith was comfortably beat despite averaging 101.64. Top-level darts is brutal.

Littler had 13 scores of 140-plus and five maximums. Smith had just six and one respectively.

Littler has struggled with doubles at times in the Premier League but he's six from 12 here.

Result: Luke Littler 6-2 Michael Smith

What a performance from Luke Littler.

Michael Smith just can't deal with Littler's scoring in this leg as the teenager throws 177, 128 and 180 to leave just 16.

The Warrington lad misses with his first two darts but a little adjustment on the oche sees him find the bed with his third.

A comprehensive victory for the 17-year-old, who will play Rob Cross in his semi-final.

Ah, Michael Smith. He's needs double tops to break straight back but sends two darts high.

Luke Littler returns and takes out 25 for a three-leg lead.
