I was just mentioning a panic buy or two, particularly of a striker - here's one...

Stoke chairman Peter Coates on 5 live Sport: "The Lee Cattermole deal is dead. We thought that was going to happen and it hasn't - we're not quite sure why. We thought there was a deal to be done, but now there isn't - you need to ask Sunderland about that.
"Blackpool wanted a loan deal for Tom Ince, but we were unable to do that. We were unable to secure the purchase, so that won't happen.
"Jonathan Pitroipa of French club Stade Rennais is a late possibility now, the only player we're still trying to bring in. Then that would be that, with nobody leaving."
BBC Sport's Ben Smith
"It's our understanding that Yevhen Konoplyanka has undergone a medical. It's not to say this deal is going to go ahead, but Liverpool are hopeful of completing this before 11 o'clock."

Well there we go, a flurry of activity at the start of a new hour.
We are into the 'panic buy' zone now. Anyone fancy a punt on a striker? Someone?
Graham Brown:, external Shame Everton didn't sell Fellaini for £27m, Jelavic for £6m, received TV money of £60m. Could buy players then. Wait...
Harry Robinson:, external Arsene Wenger needs to dig out just a bit of money to pay for Draxler...
Iain Jeffree:, external As a Palace fan, what a great set of captures these are. Safety here we come!
Rarely has a player suited a club more. Footballing playboy Dimitar Berbatov signs for Monaco on loan from Fulham until the end of the season.
Defender Scott Dann joins Crystal Palace from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.
TWO HOURS TO GO. The length of a good film, Two good albums. The duration of the average phone call made by my girlfriend.
In other words, plenty of time.
As Messrs Murphy and Dennis say there, we have plenty of deals bubbling away...
BBC Radio 5 live senior football reporter Ian Dennis
"I'm told negotiations are ongoing in Ukraine regarding Liverpool and Yevhen Konoplyanka. I don't think Liverpool have yet given up."

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins on 5 live Sport: "If you look at our first team squad, it was always Michael Laudrup's decision to keep a small, close-knit squad. It's been well documented how many injuries we've had in the last six to eight weeks, but now they're all coming back to fitness. So the majority of signings we've made are for our youth team, our under-21 squad.
"There was no bid for Chico Flores today - that rumour was completely untrue.
"As things stood earlier we were trying to complete a deal for Middleborough forward Marvin Emnes - and I think that will still go through.
"Today we looked at Barry Bannan but I don't think any deal was possible."

Everton
BBC Chief football writer Phil McNulty: "Everton manager Roberto Martinez is still at their Finch Farm training headquarters - but I gather the odds are lengthening on him adding to his squad unless chairman Bill Kenwright pulls anything out of the bag."
BBC World Service's Steve Crossman reports: "Spanish radio station Cadena SER say that the deal is done for Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen to join Barcelona in June.
"He will replace Victor Valdes whose contract expires in the summer. An end of an era at the Nou Camp."
The Blackpool Gazette claim that Thomas Ince is set to join Crystal Palace on loan, with Stephen Dobbie coming the other way.
Dobbie has already had three loan spells with Blackpool.

"[On reports that Gianluca Festa was around the Leeds dugout in midweek] If you come in as a manager then you're there, to pick the team and run it your own way. You have to stand by your principles and convictions. I don't know what's happened at Leeds, but for me if a new owner came in and told me someone was sitting next to me on the bench... well, I wouldn't have it.
"The Leeds fans are quite right to be up in arms. There has been such turmoil, but I think that's down to the things behind the scenes. That can't have helped Brian McDermott.
"There are no doubts that Brian would have had Leeds up there, fighting for the promotion places."

Here's Accrington Stanley's shopping list. The League Two side have just over two hours left to fill their boots. On the plus side, the pies and Tomas Brolin may well come together.
