This Manchester United season is perfect Twitter-friendly statistical fodder. The latest is that tonight's defeat means the defending champions have now lost six times at home this season - more than in the last three campaigns combined

The rebuilding process at Old Trafford is going to be the biggest sideshow in town this summer.

Tomorrow night sees Liverpool take on Sunderland and West Ham entertain Hull. Big ramifications for the top and bottom of the Premier League table and all of it will be right here.

    Bye for now.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "It's difficult to swallow because the team gave absolutely everything tonight, their spirit was great. You wonder how we could draw a game like that, they had nothing and in the end it was 2-2.

"Basically, we gave them the two goals but overall the spirit was great and we have to recover from that last goal.

"The spirit was absolutely brilliant and you have to give credit to the players, even if result didn't go our way. At 2-1 we became too conservative because of what happened on Saturday and instead of continuing to attack it worries us more to keep the score."

Matt, Devon: Arsenal seriously missing Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott and Koscielny. But then who wouldn't be?

Mark, Bristol: Interesting set of results for Everton if they're to get that last champions league spot. Arsenal to head to Goodison too.

Neil, Sussex: Could it be that Mourinho's biggest tactical mistake this season was to overestimate United and set up for a draw at Old Trafford. How costly could that be?

Does tonight mark the point that title favouritism swings towards the Etihad Stadium?

Not only have City negotiated their way past their local rivals, but Saturday's trip to Arsenal looks less intimidating with the Gunners in strangely lifeless form.

Manchester United manager David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports: "We didn't start the game well. They were very good but we grew into the game and up into the second goal we had a fighting chance. But we weren't good enough in the end.

"My first feeling was that Marouane Fellaini's yellow card of a foul on Pablo Zabaleta wasn't even a free-kick, but I genuinely haven't seen it again and people have said to me that it was worse than that.

"I think we have played a very good side, playing at the sort of level we are aspiring to. We need to come up a couple of levels ourselves because at the moment we are not there."

Aamer Iqbal: Remember when winning at Old Trafford used to be a big deal? Will be a banker for top sides in coming years.

Liam Siggers: Moyes has to be held accountable for getting rid of the coaching team. That is the biggest mistake, no continuity. Should go.

Charles Lee: Is it Moyes to blame? Or the players? I think bit of both, but bit more on the players. In truth we were outclassed as a whole

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini speaking to Sky Sports: "We scored three goals and had three or four more good chances to score. I don't remember many chances Manchester United had to score. We started for the three points from the first minute.

"For me it's very important to keep our clean sheet. We know we can score lots of goals. We were very compact and worked completely in attacking and defending.

"It is important in the beginning of the season to have the squad you need. We have to play so many matches, it is very important to have so many strikers, but I am very happy about our defending. We are a very balanced team at the moment."

    Bottom of the table

You can see why Swansea were so peeved to have their game ended with Jonathan de Guzman bearing down on goal. They are five points above the drop, but are giving away games to the three sides below them.

    Premier League table

At the top, Everton are stalking down Arsenal and a top-four place. They play the Gunners on Merseyside in April and have a game in hand as well to make up the six points separating the sides.

City keep cashing in their cheques and are now three points off leaders Chelsea with two games in hand.

Aberdeen move a point clear in second place thanks to in-form Adam Rooney's second-half equaliser in a real humdinger against Ross County. The Dons failing to pick up maximum points means Celtic will be crowned Premiership champions if they win at Partick Thistle tomorrow night.

It's looking increasingly bleak for St Mirren's chances of avoiding the play-off spot after a 1-0 loss at home to St Johnstone.

"When you get your noses in front you have to see the game out, you have to give credit to Swansea for their fighting spirit. As an Arsenal fan you have to think that they have lost the title tonight.

"I'm sure Swansea would have taken the point before the game but Arsenal should have got more from the game and Arsene Wenger will be disappointed that they haven't got the win that they needed to tonight.

"It's been a great game of football, Arsenal probed and probed after conceding in the first half. They just couldn't find that cutting edge, they started the second half well and got in front but couldn't hold on when they needed to."

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko speaking to Sky Sports: "We just wanted to start from the first minute to press them high and score an early goal which we did. Then it was all about us. We scored another two in the second half so we have to be happy.

"This game was very important for us. Now we are only three points behind Chelsea and this can be crucial at the end of the season.

"There are four teams and everyone has a chance. It's still 10 more games so it's everything open."

    United v City

Damned lies and statistics. The tale of the tape makes it looks like United were unlucky against City. The noisy neighbours had plenty more gears to see off their opponents if they needed them.
