Cristiano Ronaldo is knocking on the door. The Real forward has Manuel Neuer scrambling to beat away a ferocious effort from outside the area.
First change of the game. And it's not Gareth Bale. Pep Guardiola needs to inject a sense of urgency into his side. Off goes defender Rafinha for midfielder Javi Martinez.
I wonder if Gary Lineker is getting ready to pin back those ears. . .
Enamul Hoque:, external So far the Champions League semis have been a bit of a bore.
Daniel Martin:, external Last year a fast-paced and intense Bayern side beat Barca 7-0. Might a speedy, counter-attacking Real do the same to them?
Rezaa Sait:, external People are going on about possession. But the scoreline will always be the only statistic that matters.
Arjen Robben earns Bayern a free-kick deep inside Real's half. Toni Kroos whips in a fine cross into the penalty area but Xabi Alonso is back to head out for a corner. Then Robben goes on a mazy run before a tame finish straight to Iker Casillas. Bayern need to make more of these chances.
Another huge roar goes up inside the Bernabeu. But it's got nothing to do with what's happening on the pitch. Gareth Bale has just climbed off the substitutes bench to warm up along the touchline. How long before the Prince of Wales enters the action?
Rob in Newbury, via text: Mourinho and Guardiola - two men determine to suck the life out of football in their own special ways.
Martha in Manchester, via text: Possession without goals v parking the bus.
Danny, via text: Further proof Guardiola has weakened Bayern. His style has lost them their cutting edge - and made them so open at the back.
Pep Guardiola, grey sweater, white shirt and black tie, is also wearing a frown. And understandably so. His Bayern side had 413 passes, with a 93% accuracy rate, in the opening 45 minutes as opposed to Real's 104. Yet the Germans are still losing.
It's a rip-roaring start. Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer denies Cristiano Ronaldo with a one-handed diving save. Play is held up as Pepe receives treatment after taking a tumble. Already there's much more purpose from Real as regards to putting the Bayern defence under pressure.
No sign of Real Madrid substitute Gareth Bale being introduced to the action as the second half begins.
Rich in London, via text: Despite earlier comments, so far it looks as though Real Madrid have parked the bus.
James from Surrey, via text: Footballers play for their own fans, not random neutrals. All Chelsea fans were delighted with Tuesday's result.
Paul via text: Dislike Chelsea and Tuesday's semi-final was dull. But to be fair to them Bayern are just as dull with how they play.

"Real Madrid have had to concentrate and be patient, with Bayern dominating the possession. But Real could have scored three goals on the counter-attack."
No, you're not reading it wrong. Bayern have had 79% of the possession in the first half at the Bernabeu. And they're losing. Remarkable.

"If this finishes 1-0 I'll get my ears pinned back."
David Pleat
Former Tottenham manager on BBC Radio 5 live:
"Bayern have got the rhythm but they haven't created a clear-cut chance yet. When Real Madrid get the ball they are looking very dangerous on the break and Bayern have to be careful."
ZK:, external Real Madrid are creating some super opportunities when they get the ball. Should be three up by now.
Allan McDevitt:, external I've rarely seen a 'top side' who are as open to the counter as Bayern.
Ernest Bauer:, external Those missed chances might come back to haunt Madrid.
Real end the half on the attack. A snap shot by Cristiano Ronaldo cannons off a red shirt and it's a corner. A roar goes up from the crowd but it comes to nothing. That's the last action of the half. Real have the lead, Bayern have all the possession.
Major let off for Bayern. A delicious ball over the top of the Bayern defence finds Angel Di Maria unmarked inside the area and in space.
But the Real winger loses his composure at the wrong time and fires horribly over. How costly will that miss prove? One thing is certain. It hasn't done Carlo Ancelotti's blood pressure any good.
Philipp Lahm fires into the side netting from the tighest of angles. There are 80,000 fans inside the Bernabeu. You wouldn't think it - it's so quiet.

"It's just not happening for Bayern Munich in the final third. Their build up play has been superb and they have dominated this football match."
