Thousands of Atletico fans have made the trip across to London tonight. They must be having the time of their lives as their side charges towards the La Liga title and has a more than decent chance of meeting cross-town rivals Real in the Champions League final. Cambridge United are away to Halifax in the first leg of their play-off semi-final as the two former Football League clubs look for a return via a final against Gateshead or Grimsby, who clash tomorrow night.

Jealousy... that, according to Andre Schurrle, is why Chelsea have been getting criticised so much in recent weeks.

"Winning is what matters. It's the most important thing," Schurrle, 23, said. "If people look at us and say 'Chelsea can't play', even when we win, it's just because they're jealous."

Another player hoping he's got what it takes to grace the Champions League final is Ramires, who missed the 2012 showpiece through injury. The memory of missing out is driving the little Brazilian tonight.

"I missed the last final, when we won it, but now it's a completely different situation," Ramires said., external "If we beat Atletico and get through I can play, so I will give everything I have to help my team win the match.

"I have good memories of the stadium and, if we get through, it will be a dream for me to play the Champions League final at the Estadio da Luz, which is like another home to me.

"My career in European football started at Benfica so I want to win tonight so I can go back there and play in a massive game. It's the same for David Luiz, we desperately want to go back there for the final."

The Champions League trophy is on display at Stamford Bridge tonight. Any excuse for a selfie, eh?

Shane in St Albans: Klopp, Rodgers, Martinez, Simeone - men who use passion and intelligence to create attacking football that is, most importantly, entertaining. Mourinho once understood this but the fire is gone. Yes, Chelsea are in the semis but can you think of one entertaining, attacking display they've given this season? It's not just results, it's for the fans.

The stats don't favour Atletico heading into tonight's match, with the Spanish side winning just one of nine away fixtures against English sides - that sole success coming in the 1997-98 Uefa Cup against Leicester City. Unfortunately for Diego Simeone's side, they are faced with much tougher opposition than Ian Marshall, Steve Guppy and Spencer Prior tonight. Marginally.

Chelsea supporters will be keen to see how Diego Costa fares tonight. If the rumours are to be believed, Jose Mourinho has targeted the Atletico striker as the player he wants to lead his attack next season. The Spain international has netted 34 goals in 40 games this season but, tellingly, he's not got a very good record against teams managed by Jose Mourinho. Will that all change tonight?

In Chelsea's two previous semi-finals under Mourinho, they were dumped out of the competition by Liverpool and Cole is hopeful it will be third time lucky for the Blues boss tonight. But who will be the man to provide the magic?

"I can see Eden Hazard making the difference against Atletico," said Cole., external "He's the key for the game. There wasn't a lot between the two teams last week but in Eden you have a special talent. Among all the stars in both teams, he is the one that shines brightest.

"He is in that category of top, top players and would certainly belong in the company of Cristiano Ronaldo in the final."
