Chief football writer Phil McNulty at Goodison Park

"In among all the excellence of Everton's performance, both Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley have really struggled with their touches today. David Moyes has made a double change by introducing Javier Hernandez and Antonio Valencia as Manchester United need to get their way back into this quickly."

Kevin Rose:, external I have backed David Moyes to date but his negative style and scatter gun line ups are turning me into a serious sceptic very quickly.

Stephen Pinshon:, external Moyes has done it the unconventional way, but he has finally made Everton better than Man Utd.

Joe Baker:, external Why is Nani still on the pitch? Be decisive and change things Moyes current tactics clearly aren't working.

Manchester United switch things around by sending on Javier Hernandez and Antonio Valencia for Jonny Evans and the ineffectual Nani.

It's interesting how Everton continue to load up attacks down the right with Seamus Coleman and Kevin Mirallas, instead of relying on Leighton Baines down the left. There's an obvious ploy to target Alexander Buttner.

Everton are still on the hunt for a third but Antolin Alcaraz's header from a corner is straight at David De Gea.

You'd think by now that Manchester United would know better than to let Seamus Coleman glide down the right and into the penalty area. Luckily for them, the fullback can't capitalise on the generosity of his markers as he slices a shot wide.

Paul Lambert, Paul Faulkner and I speak daily and remain committed to the immediate job of limiting distraction and confusion in order that Villa have the best chance possible of finishing on a strong note."

Matt in Northampton: Countless times in that half I found myself shouting 'shoot' when United players had it near the edge of the box. They're trying to walk the ball in and yet again our defence has been woeful. Everton haven't got out of second gear and are 2-0 up.

David in Leyland: Last time Everton did the double over Man United was 44 years ago. David Moyes, what a difference you have made. Goodbye and good riddance.

Hamish in London: Carrick and Fletcher summarise United's football. Slow and predictable.

Hull manager Steve Bruce: "Arsenal had scored a wonderful opener, but up until then I thought we were the better side with Shane Long going close and their keeper making a good save.

"I think the turning point was just before half-time when I thought we should have had a free-kick and they go up the other end and you are left scratching your head about how we are 2-0 down at the break.

"We still have a bit of work to do in the Premier League before we can look at the FA Cup final. We have done very well in getting points off the teams around us and that is what we have to do against Fulham and Aston Villa next."
