"I didn't think there was anything wrong with that - Julio Cesar just missed the ball, Olic simply headed it. Another decision that will be controversial."

Croatia do have the ball in the net but not before referee Yuichi Nishimura gives a foul for Ivica Olic's challenge on goalkeeper Julio Cesar. Looking at it again, that's another soft decision which has gone Brazil's way. The hosts have had the rub of the green...

    Ben Smith
BBC Sport at Arena de Sao Paulo

"There is a tangible sense within the stadium that Brazil have got away with one there. Luiz Felipe Scolari will laugh it off after the match, he will say you need these things to go your way to win a World Cup but nonetheless Croatia manager Niko Kovac is furious down in front of me."

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 22:38 British Summer Time 12 June 2014

Croatia make another change, as Nikica Jelavic is replaced by Ante Rebic.

  9. CLOSE!published at 22:37 British Summer Time 12 June 2014

What a delivery! Oscar puts in a gem of a cross from the right, absolutely brilliant, but David Luiz is stretching at the back stick and can't control his header. That would have finished the game off for good.

Croatia have 13 minutes left to salvage something, but they've not looked like scoring at all since the break.

    Phil Neville
BBC Sport at Arena De Sao Paulo

"Goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa will be livid with himself. He got two hands on the ball and he should be saving that. He will be disappointed with both goals he has conceded."

Stuart: That referee has made a complete mockery of football! That was in no way a penalty and the penalty that was taken was illegal; it was not 'one fluid movement'.

Neymar has now got 33 goals for Brazil - the same amount as Ronaldinho and Jairzinho and one behind Rivaldo. Good company.

    Chris Waddle
BBC Radio 5 live summariser at the Arena De Sao Paulo

"Stipe Pletikosa will be disappointed - that is two he should have saved from Neymar tonight. He got a good hand on it. He gambled, Neymar got good contact on it, but his hands are not strong enough there.

"A save would have been justice because not in a million years was that a penalty. Croatia have been playing well and you can see why they are upset. The referee should miss the next few games, that is an absolutely terrible decision. Very, very poor."

Neymar was about third favourite for the golden boot last time I checked - those odds will come tumbling down after this one. Brazil won't care how dubious that penalty was.

    Phil Neville
BBC Sport at Arena De Sao Paulo

"That looked such a soft penalty. The referee has got most things right but he will be disappointed with that. There was not much tugging. Fred went down easily."

Stipe Pletikosa gets a firm hand to Neymar's penalty - but the ball still finds the corner. The boy wonder has his second, but that leaves a bad taste in the mouth for Croatia who are livid.

Drama! A terrible decision as Fred throws himself to the deck while backing into Dejan Lovren. Never a penalty - but it is given.

Referee Yuichi Nishimura - are you sure?

    Phil Neville
BBC Sport at Arena De Sao Paulo

"There are about four or five Brazil players who fancy taking free-kicks but that one was a little bit too far out for Neymar. We're into the final quarter and this will suit Croatia down to the ground. Before the game they will have wanted to make the Brazil crowd quiet and nervous."

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 22:28 British Summer Time 12 June 2014

Another superb name on the pitch now as Bernard comes on for the Hulk. Go on Bernie lad.

Unleash the Brazuca! Dani Alves lines up the free-kick 25 yards out and catches it sweet as a nut, launching it just over the top. The new ball looked to fly pretty straight and true there.
