Neymar had the most shots (three) and crosses (five) in that first half. The scenes when he equalised were tremendous.
He put it in the one place that goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa couldn't reach...
Ben Smith
BBC Sport
"Interesting to watch both sets of players walk off after that fascinating opening 45 minutes. The Croatian players are joining hands, exchanging words of encouragement. The Brazil players look as though they know they are in a real scrap. Brazil may be back in this and clearly now have the momentum, but the second half is by no means a foregone conclusion."
Chris Waddle
BBC Radio 5 live summariser at the Arena De Sao Paulo
"Croatia will be delighted with how they have played in this first half. They have passed the ball well, threatened on the break, got the opening goal and passed the ball well.
"As we expected Brazil have dominated possession, they equalised but since then have not really threatened at all. Brazil have at times played too slowly and have not hurt Croatia when we thought they could have. It will be interesting to hear Neymar's reaction to his goal because for me he scuffed it and Stipe Pletikosa should have saved it."
Phil Neville
BBC Sport at Arena De Sao Paulo
"It's one of those games when you don't want half-time to come. Sometimes opening games disappoint and nerves take over. This hasn't. The players are playing with no fear."
Cracking. Absolutely cracking. You don't see many first-halves like that in the opening game of a tournament.
More of the same please!
Neymar beats two men again with a mazy run before teeing up Hulk, he blasts wildly over the top though.
Ben:, external Where has that 10-yard spray been hiding all our lives? An actual great idea.
Scott:, external I'm liking the disappearing 10-yard free kick spray. No encroachment there!
Andy:, external Do they have any of that spray in green for when we play in Manaus?
If that's the first time you've seen the vanishing spray, a reminder that referees are armed with a can in a holster attached to their shorts.
Referees will spray a spot around where the ball should be placed at free-kicks near the penalty area, and a line for the defensive wall to stand behind after pacing out 10 yards. It's genius.

Brazilian sport website Trivela on Twitter:, external "Neymar scores after dropping into midfield to find a way back into the game for Brazil. The crowd roars. Has the giant woken up?"
Phil Neville

"Each time Neymar gets the ball two or three Croatian players are around him being really aggressive. That's because they realise he is the key. Neymar looks really up for this."
Lovely stuff from Neymar again, beating two men in midfield and winning a free-kick. And there's the first use of the vanishing spray!
BBC Sport's Mark Chapman on Twitter:, external "In the MOTD production office with Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker and Thierry Henry. Some goals there."
You can watch highlights of Brazil v Croatia on Match of the Day on BBC Two at 23:20 BST tonight.
Both sides are putting in a serious shift. There will be some aching legs in the morning. Croatia now seeing plenty of the ball as they try and stretch the Brazil defence again.
Kenneth:, external And the golden boy responds...
Mus:, external Not Brazilian silk and smooth, that was grit and fight from Oscar to make that goal happen.
It's not often the most-hyped player delivers when it matters. But Neymar did during the Confederations Cup last summer, and he's done it so far here too.
Ben Smith
BBC Sport at Arena de Sao Paulo
"What an incredible moment that was. Fireworks are still going off all around Sao Paulo and I can see them out of the corner of the stadium across the city. The noise inside this stadium when that ball flicked off the post and into the net was hard to describe. The emotions are close to the surface in this game and that was clear by the celebrations, but Neymar has delivered a crucial goal."
Croatia aren't too disheartened and instantly win a corner. It's a cracker of a game and this Brazil team look vulnerable out wide.
Chris Waddle
BBC Radio 5 live summariser at the Arena De Sao Paulo
"Stipe Pletikosa took an eternity to hit the ground in the Croatia goal, he should have done much better. Neymar didn't catch it very well and you could see what he was going to do. The ball just rolled along the ground and nestled in the corner.
"The keeper went down in instalments, but Neymar doesn't care and Brazil don't care, it's 1-1. The first game is always difficult for the players, the worst thing happened to them with the own goal but that should relax them. Brazil should kick on but don't underestimate Croatia."
Phil Neville
BBC Sport at Arena De Sao Paulo
"Neymar has just announced himself to the World Cup. There have been a lot of question marks about him since he moved to Europe. But he showed wonderful tenacity. It was Oscar who did all the donkey work. He rode two challenges in the build-up. It's a real test for Croatia now."
