Are we on for a cricket score?

Perhaps Australia can get revenge against Chile on the cricket pitch. Arrange a friendly in Santiago, ship Mitchell Johnson across to dish out some chin music.

That's better though, Aussie winger Tommy Oar drilling wide from 20 yards.

Andrew:, external This could be an absolute rout. Australia haven't left the changing rooms yet.

"We were saying you don't want to give anything up cheaply, but again Jorge Valdivia was left on his own. He is a good player on the ball and he just sidefoots it past the goalkeeper.

"Three Australia players went towards the player they thought would receive the ball, again leaving the goalscorer absolutely open. Two chances, two goals, that is the difference at this level. Clearly this is already a real uphill task for Australia."

There he is! The maverick number 10 Jorge Valdivia scores a peach of a goal, just 70 seconds after the first.

Alexis Sanchez picks him out on the edge of the box and he just nonchalantly curls into the roof of the net.

"Horrendous defending from Australia. No-one attacks the ball, it falls to Sanchez and he strikes it in the corner. We were just saying how well Australia had organised themselves but that was the exact opposite. Nobody picked Sanchez up and it was a simple case of picking his spot."

Chile make the breakthrough! Australia get in a real mess at the back, goalkeeper Mat Ryan is caught in no-man's land and Barca predator Alexis Sanchez makes no mistake with the loose ball, lashing in from close range.

It could be a long night for Australia.

John:, external Alexis Sanchez will be a different player than the one we see for Barcelona - like Neymar last night. Barca want to sell Sanchez, which is nuts.

Chile's number 10 Jorge Valdivia is already getting on the ball in dangerous areas. He's a real maverick, handed a 20-match ban for smashing up his hotel after a bender at the 2007 Copa America.

He was then banned for another 10 games for getting hammered at the baptism of his daughter and missing training.

    Rogue.

"It is vitally important Australia do not concede early on in this game, if they do you will feel for them. I wouldn't say it's spoiling tactics from the Australians but you can see already that they have taken a step back from Chile.

"Australia will congest those central areas and force the opposition out wide. Then it all comes down to how well they defend."

Chile are ranked 14 in the latest Fifa rankings, above the Netherlands. So maybe my 3-0 shout was a bit off the pace.

Chile have started strongly but since their third-place finish in 1962, Chile have only won two of their 17 World Cup games.

    Will this be number three?

"This is a game Chile will expect to win. And what people expect from Chile is to see high pressing and a high tempo, in a high-octane attacking display."

That must be the longest national anthem in the world! I recall Ivan Zamorano and co giving it large in 1998 now. A cracker.

Now it's 'Advance Australia Fair' time. Mile Jedinak has had a Word Cup haircut. He was quality for Palace last season but he may have a tough evening tonight.
