"The protesters need to protest in the right way, against the government rather than against the World Cup. Yes they have a point but I don't agree with protesting during the World Cup, they should do it before.

"Everyone knows there should be fewer stadiums than we have been building and that they have invested a lot of money in stadiums rather than in the public."

"We were sat there in the stadium and there was a real sense of disappointment throughout the crowd. Everyone wanted to see Lionel Messi light the place up but I think he was playing with us and he came out in the second half and showed what he can do. He scored that goal and came to life, he was floating about and getting into some good positions.

"The Bosnians would have felt comfortable, Messi looked out of sorts and then all of a sudden he turned it on. Messi was the defining factor."

    Lionel Messi

He wasn't at his best for an hour but he burst into life in a matter of seconds. That's what the best can do. Cristiano Ronaldo tomorrow too...

    Neil Lennon
    Former Celtic manager

"I hope we don't see that system again because it was pretty flat and it didn't suit the best players of the Argentina team. It was good management from Alejandro Sabella to admit he got it wrong at half-time, to say let's make the change and see if we can improve. And it was night and day. Sergio Aguero had a partner to work with, which left gaps for Lionel Messi to exploit, there was that spark that wasn't there in the first half and he got a great goal.

"It's a joy to watch him play and he's doing it on the world stage, it's fantastic to watch. There was probably just a wee bit of extra caution from him going into the game - his first of the tournament."

"If Argentina are to win the World Cup they have to play 4-3-3. They have a reputation, there is a bit of fear about them. If they start like they did in the first half people start thinking 'we can beat these'.

"When they changed the system they got a bit of energy. If Sabella is going to get any success here in this tournament, he needs to play all his creative players."

    Tim Vickery
South American football expert on BBC Radio 5 live

"We have a phrase in South America about trying to keep warm with a short blanket. If you pull it up, you leave your feet exposed, if you push it down, your head is cold. What happened a bit here is the Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella first decided to try and cover his feet. He had to wrestle with the courage of his own convictions at half time but he changed it.

"You saw with the goal that they conceded the defensive weakness they have, so you saw what Sabella was concerned about. But clearly, you have to be bold."

"We all highlighted at half time Lionel Messi was lacking that half yard. At half-time, that is where the manager Alejandro Sabella earns his money - he looked at that first half and the front two were not working so he brought Gonzalo Higuain. Eventually it opened up more for Messi, in the second half he was more like the Messi we know."

"Lionel Messi got his goal in his best way. To be honest it wasn't a good test for Argentina, they need to perform better if they want to go on, but they were good in the second half.

"I was disappointed with Angel Di Maria, if he plays better Messi plays better too. His ability is fantastic."

Argentina had just two shots on target all night. They got better as the game wore on but coach Alejandro Sabella has plenty to think about.

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 00:51 British Summer Time 16 June 2014

There goes the full-time whistle. Possibly the worst game of the tournament so far but we've still had three more goals and a moment of real class from Lionel Messi.

  15. CLOSE!published at 00:51 British Summer Time 16 June 2014

Close! Argentina counter again and Gonzalo Higuain tees up Lionel Messi on the right of the box, a defender forces him wide and he hammers a rising shot into the side-netting.

    Almost a second.

"This is not the World Cup of the goalkeeper. Sergio Romero of Argentina another who hasn't played regularly for his club (Monaco) this season."

Jacob:, external That is awful from Sergio Romero, but great play by Bosnia!

Ricky:, external Lionel Messi will grab the headlines, but for my money Miralem Pjanic has been the best player on show tonight - very impressive and tidy.

Tom:, external Bosnia have left this one too late, I fear.
