"It is very disappointing. Probably the worst first half until now. Whoever is not supporting Argentina at the Maracana are sending bad vibes to Lionel Messi."

Andrew Minzey:, external "Messi's lack of beating Begovic proves he probably just wouldn't cut it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke."

That's that old chestnut cracked then

"It has not been the best game of the tournament. A lot of hype and expectation on Argentina, I was waiting to see some fast, attacking football but in reality they have sat back and I think Bosnia have been the best team in the final third."

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC Sport

"Is he known to be 'fiery', the Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella? Because I think he is going to have a moment at half-time. The quality of play has been very poor."

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 23:47 British Summer Time 15 June 2014

Well that was a bit rubbish really. We've been spoilt by the quality of this tournament but that was slow, flat and all rather unmagical...

Almost! He's been a shadow of his very best but in an instant Lionel Messi shows what he can do, beating three men with some sublime close control, waltzing into the corner of the penalty area but he is unable to find Sergio Aguero on his left.

    Almost!

Lee, Portsmouth: So Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi haven't achieved what's expected of them at a World Cup, anyone considered that that's down to them being literally marked men? Still, the respective managers for Ronaldo and Messi wouldn't play them out of position.

South American football expert on BBC Radio 5 live

"Argentina have been very, very disappointing. It is a classic case of a coach not having the courage of his convictions. He has changed to 5-3-2, he wanted more controlled possession, but they have not had that, and they they have lost some of their directness. Lionel Messi is losing the ball and the reason is because Bosnia are able to pack the defence and stifle him.

"This is a classic case of Argentina falling between two stools because the coach lacks the courage of his convictions."

"Sergio Romero didn't see that until very late, and the save looks even better when you realise he hasn't had anything to do until now."

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 23:42 British Summer Time 15 June 2014

    That is a brilliant save!

Bosnia threaten again from a set-piece as Senad Lulic meets a corner with a cracking header, he beats Hugo Campagnaro to the ball and fires in a header. It's arcing into the corner but Sergio Romero gets down well to push it away.

Wonderful save to keep Argentina ahead!

  14. Ronaldo injury updatepublished at 23:37 British Summer Time 15 June 2014

BBC Sport's David Ornstein in Salvador

"Portugal's build-up to this World Cup has been completely dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo's fitness concerns. The two-time Ballon d'or winner has been struggling with tendinitis in his left knee and a thigh injury - but he took a full part in the 15 minutes of training that the media were allowed to watch here at Arena Fonte Nova.

"Despite the presence of strapping under his kneecap, Ronaldo appeared comfortable and with a full range of movement as he took part in the warm-up and a series of drills.

"Concerns were raised when he arrived more than an hour late for his scheduled news conference, yet he was quick to dismiss any speculation and insisted he is in good shape: 'I would like to be at 110% but I'm at 100% and I think that is enough to help the national team.'

Aergio Aguero is down clutching his head after a clash of heads with Ermin Bicakcic as they went up for a header and that will sting. Right in the cheekbone.

He's up on his feet though.

"That was a little bit too greedy by Edin Dzeko, he had an option to his left and could have rolled it to his team-mate but was too greedy and hit high and wide."

  17. Text us on 81111published at 23:34 British Summer Time 15 June 2014

Andrew: Angel Di Maria will outshine Lionel Messi at this World Cup. Opposition teams will double up on Messi, allowing Di Maria the opportunity to express himself and affect the game. If Di Maria has brought his Real Madrid form with him to Brazil, then watch out world!

Chance! Edin Dzeko had Senad Lulic free to his left but the Manchester City man instead shoots on the turn, lifting a tame effort over the crossbar from 20 yards.

Had to go one more there Edin, but the game appears to be opening up a bit.

A shot from Javier Mascherano! They don't come around very often!

He hits it well too, rifling a half volley at Asmir Begovic, who pushes it away firmly.

I'm tempted to say that this has been the dullest half an hour of the tournament so far. Lift it!
