The Netherlands are on the charge. Clever play by Arjen Robben as he picks out Wesley Sneijder. Only a brave block prevents the Dutch from increasing their lead.

"It was a terrible mistake from the goalkeeper and 30 seconds before they could have gone ahead.

"It was an awful goalkeeping error. They've got their heads in their hands the Australian players. There was some swerve on it but he's got to save that. That howler is going to cost them.

"Depay has been fantastic since he came on but Ron Vlaar has been absolutely awful. He gave the ball way just before they scored and Mathew Leckie should have scored. Head into an empty goal. Why chest it?"

Mat Ryan will be having nightmares for weeks to come. The Australia keeper allows a 30-yard attempt by substitute Memphis Depay to squirm into the net. Ryan had it covered and should have saved it. Cruel on Australia.

Temperatures threaten to boil over as Robin van Persie, who has already been booked, clatters into Mile Jedinak. The follow through was dodgy to say the least. Van Persie can count himself lucky he is still on the pitch.

The good news is there's still another half an hour of this cracker remaining. Australia's heads have not dropped since Robin van Persie's equaliser. Pure drama.

"What an emphatic finish from Robin van Persie. He rifled it in and that was a sign of a player with real confidence. Just before that Australia had a chance to go 3-1 up but credit to the Dutch for coming back."
