"Oh my word, you won't see a better goal all World Cup. That was Marco van Basten-esque. What a goal, sensational. That is the goal of the World Cup. To hit a dropping ball over your shoulder on the wrong foot, over the goalkeeper, off the bar. Tim Cahill, legend.

"He'll never score a better goal in his life. The technique to do that, the ball was in the air for an age and he smashed it.

"The goal from the Netherlands came from Australia's free-kick,. They tried to play short because they're confident and that was a ridiculous decision. Alex Wilkinson tried to clatter Robben but he stayed on his feet for one of the first times we've seen and what a finish."

Bang! What was that about a quiet start by the Netherlands. Arjen Robben spins past Alex Wilkinson on the halfway line before bursting into the Australian penalty area and finding the net with a low finish from an angle. Delightful. Goal number three for the tournament for the former Chelsea man.

Mat Ryan's quiet start in the Australian goal comes to an end as he is called on to save Robin van Persie's header from an inswinging free-kick. But it's tame and Ryan gathers comfortably.

"The Dutch are giving the ball away cheaply and there's no energy in their play at the minute.

"There's an air of complacency about them. It's like they're thinking 'we'll get going in a minute, we're going to score and we're going to win the game'. But Australia have been the better side so far. The Dutch have been lethargic and sloppy."

Simon Speake:, external Mat Ryan's one of the best keepers in the tournament, but he'll probably find himself a tad overworked in this game.

"It's a fantastic start from Australia, knocking the ball around the back four and Tim Cahill can come short and link play well. When the ball's wide his first thought is to spin his defender and try to get in the box for a header."

Ouch! A bruising challenge by Nigel de Jong on Tommy Oar earns Australia an early free-kick inside the Dutch half. It comes to nothing. Let's hope De Jong's challenge is not a sign of things to come.
