    "They've got great team spirit. Against the Dutch it will be very difficult, but the last game against Spain they could be out of it by then so that could be a consolation. The Netherlands you expect to qualify and it will be a fight between Spain and Chile for second place.

    "They have to start brighter, they can't start the game in awe or in fear. They have to stay in the game early on."

    Australia defender Jason Davidson on BBC Radio 5 live: "Anything's possible in football and we have to make sure we concentrate.

    "We showed too much respect to Chile, it was a big stage for us, it's my first World Cup, and a lot of boys showed too much respect and we can't afford to do that again.

    "We played well for 70 minutes against Chile but we didn't have time to recover. We have to really knuckle down and not give anything away."

    Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal has complained about the view he gets from the dugout at the stadium where his side play Australia. Van Gaal says he has "no view" because of a TV camera in front of the dugout, which is also too low.

    There will be 18,000 Australia fans inside Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre and each and every one will believe the Socceroos can land a shock knockout blow.

    Australia are actually unbeaten in three games against the Netherlands. Two of the games have ended in draws, while the other, in September 2008, resulted in a 2-1 defeat to the Oranje,, external Josh Kennedy heading the winner after Luke Wilkshire's penalty.

    "The 5-1 win over Spain was a shock. Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder looked exceptional and the pace of Robben against the Spanish back-four was immense. Daley Blind was impressive too.

    "I don't think they can win the World Cup but they will beat expectations. I think Argentina will win it. The Netherlands will beat Australia quite comfortably but as the tournament progresses they are big games for their young players."

    This is match number 18 of the World Cup.

    With an average of almost three goals a game, no wonder it's been an exciting tournament.

    The next goal will be the 50th of the 2014 tournament.

    The smart money will be on Robin van Persie or Arjen Robben to score it. But don't rule out Tim Cahill, who is seeking his 34th goal in 71 games for Australia.

    The words of Rene van der Gijp, a former Netherlands winger, after they opened their World Cup campaign by demolishing Spain 5-1 on 13 June.

    According to the Guardian,, external Van Gaal has created a relaxed environment devoid of tension within his squad.

    "Robin van Persie, remarkably, was playing pool with his children only four hours before the Spain game, after Van Gaal invited the players' families to visit the team hotel," says the report. "Other players have been spotted driving around with their girlfriends and socialising outside the training camp."
