    Germany enjoyed 62.6% of the possession but Ghana were still a real threat on the counter. As you can see from above , there was little difference between the two sides in terms of attacking areas.

    • Klose has equalled Ronaldo's record of 15 goals at World Cup finals.

    • Both players scored their 15th goal against Ghana.

    • Klose is only the third player in World Cup history to score in four different editions of the competition (after Pele and Uwe Seeler).

    • Asamoah Gyan equalled Roger Milla's record of five goals, they are the two highest scoring Africans at World Cups.

    Ghana goalscorer Asamoah Gyan on BBC One: "It was a great game and I would like to congratulate the team - we believed in ourselves against a tough side. We had to respect Germany, but we were close.

    "We saw the real Ghana today. We were tactically perfect, we had to work hard because Germany are so good in possession. We didn't want to run around and waste energy.

    "Now we have to go all out against Portugal in our last game. We have to focus and believe we can beat Portugal."

    Miroslav Klose just continues to amaze. His record-equalling 15 World Cup goals have come in the time England have just scored 17 in the tournament. You wouldn't bet against him taking the record on his own.

    So how does Group G look after that? A victory for United States tomorrow will guarantee their qualification, while Germany will go into the final match still needing something to secure their own progress.

    Ghana will be hoping Portugal can beat the United States to improve their chances of qualification.

It could have been 7-7, there were that many chances. But credit to the Germans, they seemed to be tiring but kept going and going."
