Ghana spurn a wonderful opportunity to win the game now. They break with three on two but the pass is delayed and the Africans are caught offside. What a let-off for Germany.

"Great build-up and it shifts to Klose about 15 yards out and he's just snatched at it and missed by about two yards. One chance for Ghana and one for Germany and vice versa, brilliant stuff."

Germany should be celebrating the winner. Miroslav Klose shoots inches wide from about 15 yards. He is in a great position but drags wide. You don't expect him to miss there.

Asamoah Gyan drags a low shot from 20 yards agonisingly wide. No-one is settling for the point with just a minute of normal time left.

You're not wrong Brad. This time, Jordan Ayew sees a low strike well held by Manuel Neuer. The Ghana substitute has made a real impact since coming on.

"This is like basketball right now. We're talking about offside at one end and then at the other end it's a great challenge by Asamoah to deny Germany.

"Ghana are trying to play quick and go for it. I hope it goes for them because I think some time management may be needed."

More last-ditch defending by Ghana. This time Jonathan Mensah hacks clear just inches away from his goal, with Thomas Muller waiting to tap home Mesut Ozil's cross.

Thomas Muller looks as though he is about to win the match for Germany but Kwadwo Asamoah brilliantly recovers to prevent a certain goal. The German striker is through one goal but, just as he pulls the trigger, Asamoah's lunging foot diverts the ball for a corner. Absolutely brilliant by the Ghanaian.

If this stays at 2-2 come the final whistle, the United States have the chance to go top of Group G against winless Portugal tomorrow. Not many people would have expected that.

Simon in Woking, via text: When you compare the attacking, free flowing football of this World Cup with the style of football advocated by Mourinho, you can see why Mourinho's style is described as "anti football". Nothing better than watching two teams going toe to toe, hammer and tongs with full flowing breathlessness. Absolutely loving this tournament.

Klose is ridiculous! The ultimate big tournament poacher.

  14. Klose to perfectionpublished at 21:36 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Miroslav Klose's goal means he is now Germany's outright top scorer at the World Cup finals after previously being tied on 14 with Gerd Muller. The 36-year-old also becomes Germany's oldest ever goalscorer at the tournament. And he is only the third player to score at four World Cups along with Pele and fellow German Uwe Seeler.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:36 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Emmanuel Badu replaces Mohammed Rabiu for Ghana. They force a corner as they look to get their noses back in front but the substitute drags a shot wide from distance.

  16. Postpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Ghana goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda reacts well to punch Miroslav Klose's cross clear with Thomas Muller waiting. Germany looked all over the place before Low's double substitution. Now it is Ghana hanging on.

Bastian Schweinsteiger curls a free-kick harmlessly over to give the Black Stars time to draw breath.

  17. Postpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Miroslav Klose turned 36 at the start of this month and is now the equal record goal-scorer in World Cup history with 15, level with former Brazil striker Ronaldo.

What odds taking the record for himself by the end of the game? This promises to be a brilliant last 15 minutes.

"That is all about positioning from Klose. He knows where to be, anticipating. Credit to the manager as well for taking off Gotze and bringing Klose on to say 'let's go for it'. He could have waited a bit longer before making a switch."

    Miroslav Klose scores

"That's why these top managers are top managers. What a substitution. There he is, the goal poacher at the far post. He never gives up and a very good poachers goal."

What. A. Game. Germany's record goal-scorer Miroslav Klose has been on the pitch just moments and he is in the right place at the right time to bring his country level. Benedikt Howedes' flicks on Toni Kroos's corner and Klose pokes in from yards out. What an impact.
