"Emenike just wanted it more than Spahic. He outmuscled him, recognising he had the pace to beat him one on one. No foul from Emenike for me. If anything Spahic tried to foul Emenike."

"I thought Spahic the captain was fouled. The ball is pushed past him and when I see a replay, it's actually not a free-kick and a good finish by Odemwingie - side-footed, through the goalkeeper."

Bosnia are raging but Nigeria won't care. They are ahead.

Emmanuel Emenike shows Emir Spahic a clean pair of heels down the right and, with the defender eating turf, his low cross is turned home by Peter Odemwingie from close range.

Bosnia are adamant Spahic was dragged to the ground but he wasn't. It was just bad defending. Africa have come to the World Cup party this evening.

"It's end to end stuff now, this is what we were hoping for. Bosnia are now in the game because Nigeria have had to come off that early pace."

There are goals in this game if the openness of the first 25 minutes are anything to go by. Nigeria look full of pace going forward while Bosnia are perhaps more composed in possession.

Miralem Pjanic's 20-yard shot is spilled by goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama but he is able to gather at the second attempt.

  6. Postpublished at 23:25 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Edin Dzeko has suddenly burst into the life. He shows brilliant movement to spin behind Nigeria's defence but, with Vincent Enyeama to beat from 16 yards, his shot is parried away by the goalkeeper.

A stunning through ball by Miralem Pjanic and great pace from Dzeko. Signs Bosnia are finding their feet in the game.

"It was wonderful vision from Pjanic, he immediately got his head up to pick out Dzeko. Really poor decision."

"We're at a World Cup and in what league does he referee in? New Zealand. Thank you very much.

"That would have taken one second on a replay to say 'goal'."

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 23:22 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

I almost spoke too early there. Striker Edin Dzeko is played through on goal by Miralem Pjanic and he calmly dispatches the ball into the net, only to find the flag raised for offside. Replays show the Bosnian was comfortably onside.

Linesman, you've had a mare there.

Karl, via text: I love Emir Spahic. Always got a huge smile on his face. And he looks the spitting image of Muse singer Matt Bellamy.

If you want a clue as to how much Bosnia are struggling to get their attacking game going, lone striker Edin Dzeko has managed just six touches in the opening 20 minutes. That's how much.

Former Republic of Ireland winger Kevin Kilbane
    Match of the Day analyst

"Nigeria look the better team - they are much more positive. Odemwingie has been very bright, coming inside looking for one-twos with Emenike and Musa."

"At the minute, Bosnia are getting overrun in midfield and are playing too slow. The manager though won't be afraid to change it."

  14. Postpublished at 23:15 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Nigeria are well on top in the early stages with Bosnia struggling to get their foot on the ball. Michael Babatunde again tests goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from distance, but is easy for the Stoke man.

Nigeria need to improve in the final third.

"Lucky enough for Bosnia, Nigeria, as in the last game against Iran, have been woeful in the final third. I don't know how much longer the African team can keep this pace up though."

Ahmed Musa is causing Bosnia plenty of problems on Nigeria's right. His pass across goal finds John Mikel Obi, who fires a low shot inches past the post.

"Did I just witness a forward pass from John Obi Mikel?"

Now, now Gary, two passes, both complete for Mikel so far.

End-to-end in the opening minutes. Bosnia's youngest-ever international Muhamed Besic scoops a shot over the bar from 20 yards.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 23:07 British Summer Time 21 June 2014

Crude from Bosnia's Haris Medunjanin on Ahmed Musa. The Nigerian has the beating of his defender and Medunjanin has little option but to drag him down. A deserved yellow card.

Peter Odemwingie curls the resulting free kick inches wide with goalkeeper and Stoke City team-mate Asmir Begovic struggling to get there.
