That goal puts Neymar into the lead in the race for the Golden Boot. Four in three games for the Brazilian, who moves up to sixth in the nation's all-time goalscoring charts - above Rivaldo. He has bagged 35 goals in 52 caps now. Decent.

Where would Brazil be without the poster boy of this World Cup? In deep trouble. Neymar pounces on another defensive mistake, twisting, turning and nutmegging his way into space, before firing into the bottom corner. Magic.

Brazil are like the Tottenham side of the mid-1990s - dynamite going forward but creakier than a pantry door at the back. Every time Neymar gets the ball the decibel meter goes up, but then the gauge drops again as Cameroon threaten. The Africans look dangerous at every set-piece, as another corner goes begging when Eric Choupo Moting heads wide.

Croatia are struggling to break down Mexico over in Recife. Niko Kovac's side have a rare chance as Ivan Perisic slashes a shot from outside the area into the stand. Mexico will be happy to reduce the Croats to efforts like that.

BBC World's John Bennett on Twitter, external in Brasilia: Unbelievable! Joel Matip with a special moment for Cameroon. Brazil fans immediately on their feet encouraging the team.

"It's that man Dani Alves - I said it earlier, he is vulnerable in one-on-one situations. The ball comes across and it's a tap in for Joel Matip who is totally unmarked. Again Brazil are not convincing defensively.

"But I tell you what Cameroon deserve that, they have been woeful at the back but very positive going forward."

You can hear a pin drop in the Estadio Nacional. Silver-haired Brazil right-back Dani Alves defends with the efficiency of a pensioner, allowing Allan Nyom to set up Joel Matip for the easiest of easy tap-ins.

Brazil are looking rampant. Or they were. The Indomitable Lions roar back and almost bag a fortunate equaliser. Eyong Enoh's shot is hacked clear by Thiago Silva, whose heart is in his mouth as it spins agonisingly wide.

And then the African side hit the crossbar from Thiago Silva's shoulder. Warning sign for Brazil.

Philip Fernandes:, external I sense that a thrashing of Cameroon is imminent, and that just might reignite Brazils flare for the rest of the tournament.

Tom Bannatyne:, external As soon as Brazil score, the floodgates will open. This lively, partisan crowd won't help Cameroon's confidence. 0-5.

"Croatia have started like a team who know they need to win to go through and Guillermo Ochoa in the Mexico goal is not showing the kind of form he did against Brazil. Croatia will be looking to test him, especially from set-pieces."

Textbook volley from Neymar almost doubles Brazil's lead. Eye on the ball and then thwack. The Brazil goalscorer does exactly that, but fortunately for Cameroon keeper Charles Itandje it is straight down his neck.

    Former Wales international Robbie Savage

"It was Luiz Gustavo who brought the ball up on the Brazil left - what a ball. He whipped it behind the Cameroon back four and what technique from Neymar, who lets it run across him, opens his body up and side-foots it into the opposite corner. Sensational from Brazil. You cannot teach that - pure genius.

"Before that goal I thought Cameroon were the better team. But what a finish from Neymar."

End to end stuff in Recife. Croatia's Ivan Perisic breaks down the inside right flank and sends in a low cross but Rafael Marquez clears for a corner. That ends with Mexico defender Paul Aguilar getting in a headed clearance before Mario Mandzukic can nod in.

Then Mexico go close. Hector Herrera lets fly from 25 yard and sees his left-foot strike crash back off the crossbar.

This is what they came to see in Brasilia. A Brazil goal. And a Neymar goal. Luiz Gustavo robs the ball from Benjamin Moukandjo and lays a fizzing cross on a plate for the Barcelona man. A man worth £50m does not miss those.

Neymar is a man used to the camera lens. But probably not from as close as he is now. The Brazil forward goes flying towards a posse of photographers after being shoved in the back by Allan Nyom. Not one of the snappers got a shot of that. Amateurs.

Marcelo is sent tumbling to the lush Brasilia turf after a wild lunge by Cameroon's Eyong Enoh. He sees yellow in the shape of the referee's card.

Then Brazil are almost undone again. Eric Choupo Moting breaks free down the left and his low cross is scrambled clear by David Luiz.
