    Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon
    BBC Radio 5 live

"We've got two quality sides but neither are living up to expectations today - it is frustrating.

"But Chile are going to go for it - they have to because a draw will still see them play Brazil if Brazil come through as we expect. The Chileans are throwing a few men forward now which is great to see."

Arjen Robben snipes down the left wing and wins a free-kick. Quality needed...

It is a good ball from Wesley Sneijder too, and the dangerous Stefan de Vrij is only just inches away from meeting it.

From the following corner Dirk Kuyt heads wide!

Twenty minutes to go. This has been a really slow game so far but are there signs of a late burst?

  7. Postpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 23 June 2014

    Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon
    BBC Radio 5 live

"Arjen Robben is brilliant to watch, when he picks up the ball there is no other thought in this mind than to drive at people. And we saw a brilliant bit of skill from Alexis Sanchez to create what I think was Chile's first shot on target.

"There has been a lot of good build-up play from both sides but both have been let down by a lack of quality in the finish. But the game is starting to open up a little more now so we may see more chances."

Fernando Torres and David Villa. The future of Spanish striking is bright...

Wonderful pass from Andres Iniesta, unlocking the Australia defence with a gem of a ball, Torres is in on goal and side-foots it into the corner. Lovely stuff, and the Australians need that like a third armpit.

    Brad Friedel
    Tottenham and former USA goalkeeper

"Other than the substitution of David Villa and his reaction there are not many other talking points in this game. When Villa came off he looked sad and upset, it looked like he was being consoled by one of the staff members on the bench."

He may have had a tiff with the manager this week but Cesc Fabregas gets 20 minutes of action, replacing Santi Cazorla.

Where there is Arjen Robben, there is hope.

The Dutchman again drives right through the middle, leaving two defenders in his wake before thrashing in a low shot which Claudio Bravo has to field low down. Better.

    Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon
    BBC Radio 5 live

"The game needs a goal, we could really do with Chile scoring it and bringing Netherlands out of themselves as well. At the moment there is only one team trying to win this match.

"But maybe now Netherlands have taken the sting out of Chile they will get more into the game."

Australia have had nearly 60% of the ball in the second half. Against Spain. That takes some doing.

    No end product though.

    Group B

As it stands then the Netherlands will win Group B and will play the runners up in Group A - which could be Brazil, Croatia or Mexico.

Chile will face the winners of that group.

Wesley Sneijder connects beautifully with a shot from 25 yards but he can only find the small of a defender's back. Ouch. That will leave a right bruise!

Into the last half an hour of both games. It's been the first real dud afternoon so far, perhaps understandably so given the context of the group.

They could all shake hands now and get on with the knockout stages...
