Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has accused Fifa of "playing tricks" with the fixture schedule at the World Cup.

Hosts Brazil played before the Dutch in the first two games but are in action after them in the final group round, which Van Gaal claims is unfair.

"Fifa plays these tricks. It's not a good thing," said Van Gaal whose team could face Brazil in the last 16.

"It's not fair play. I think at a World Cup the host country always has an advantage."

Fans of racial stereotyping will be all at sea this afternoon, as according to Dutch media this will be the first time since they played a friendly against China in 1996, some 221 matches ago, that the Netherlands will not have a player with 'Van' in his name in the team.

    It's just not right...

Many predicted that this tournament would spell the end for one of the finest teams football has ever seen, but even Spain's biggest doubters could surely have not foreseen their empire crumbling quite as spectacularly as it has.

The reigning champions have conceded seven goals in losing to the Netherlands and Chile, which is one more than they did in winning Euro 2008, World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 combined.

It's been a seismic fall from grace and we may now have seen the last of captain Iker Casillas, and midfield greats Xavi and Xabi Alonso on the international stage.

The future of coach Vicente Del Bosque will be a hot topic once the final whistle blows in this game. The Spanish FA want the most successful coach in their history to stay, but as Alonso put it "eras end with defeats" and it would not be a surprise if he decided to walk away.

As for Australia, they may have lost both games but their performance against Chile and the Netherlands hinted at a very bright future indeed, making a mockery of those who predicted they would be thrashed out of sight.

Anthony Bonsen:, external There seems to be an assumption that a team given problems galore by Australia cannot lose to an excellent Chilean side. We shall see but if that happens a second round exit to Brazil beckons.

From Marcelo's own goal in Sao Paulo to Cristiano Ronaldo's superb cross early this morning in Manaus, we've been spoilt by the quality and excitement on show at this World Cup.

OK, OK, England's results were poor but even Roy Hodgson's boys managed to look pretty slick in attack at times. Maybe...

Netherlands replace the suspended Robin van Persie with stalwart Dirk Kuyt- who I think played in the 1978 final. Also in the Dutch side are Jeremain Lens and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Chile have just one change, key man Arturo Vidal sits it out and is replaced by Felipe Gutierrez.

Eliminated Spain make seven changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Chile. Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina replaces veteran Iker Casillas, while Fernando Torres and David Villa come into the attack. World Cup winners Xavi and Sergio Busquets have been dropped, as has Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

Australia bring in Newcastle Jets forward Adam Taggart for the suspended Tim Cahill, while injured Mark Bresciano is replaced by ex-Reading midfielder Oliver Bozanic.

What's at stake in Group B this evening then?

Chile and the Netherlands have already qualified courtesy of their impressive wins over the World Cup holders Spain and more routine victories against Australia, and their meeting in Sao Paulo will decide who wins the group.

The Dutch side's superior goal difference means they just need a draw to finish the group in first place, which would see them play the second-placed side from Group A.

That could be Brazil, Mexico or Croatia - with Group A being decided later on this evening.

Like that point midway through the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible where we go from a 'two-table situation' to one, the very landscape of the competition has changed.

For the first time, we have two matches going on at once as the group stages come to an end.

And we start with Group B. A match-up maybe not quite of the quality of Ronnie O'Sullivan v Stephen Hendry, but certainly a James Wattana v Tony Drago.

Netherlands striker Robin van Persie serves a one-match ban after picking up two bookings.

They could also be without defender Bruno Martins Indi, who suffered concussion against Australia.

Chile could leave midfield duo Arturo Vidal and Charles Aranguiz on the bench.

Coach Jorge Sampaoli may decide to protect them as they are both are carrying injuries and each have a yellow card to their name.

Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque is expected to make a host of changes now his side are out of the competition.

Gerard Pique is a doubt with an adductor muscle problem, while David de Gea has a buttock muscle injury.

Australia midfielder Tim Cahill misses this game as he is suspended after he picked up two bookings.
