Scotland fans can now sit back and watch the World Cup from the comfort of home before digging out the tartan scarves again in September. Dare we dream of a place at France 2016? The last time Scotland were at a major finals was in the land of Asterix and Obelix back in 1998.

Scotland's defence is sure to be put to the test by Germany, who are among the favourites in Brazil, so it's just as well Gordon Strachan can call on two excellent keepers in Allan McGregor and David Marshall. Can we play them both?

Scotland are now unbeaten in their last six outings. That record might be under threat in the next outing which is in Dortmund when qualifying for Euro 2016 begins against Germany on 7 September.

There might be a few questions asked about Scotland's central defensive pairing of Gordon Greer and Grant Hanley. The Blackburn captain will shoulder the blame for Nigeria's late equaliser but Gordon Strachan said the 22-year-old was "immense" tonight.

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan on BBC Radio Scotland

"We've had three days hard work and we were one pass away from another three or four goals. Some of these guys haven't played in weeks and I think you could see that in a few of the final balls.

"I've got a squad in there where every one of them wants the others to do well."

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi rested many of his first choice stars and will want to see an improvement in defence in Brazil. Scotland got in behind the full-backs very easily tonight.

"Overall, a pretty decent performance," is the opinion of Scotland debutant Chris Martin on BBC Radio Scotland.

The Derby striker can be pleased with his second half display, having linked play well and having one shot on target that was well saved.

Manager Gordon Strachan won't be best pleased by that late defensive slip but a draw is perhaps the right result after an entertaining match at Craven Cottage. Scotland's unbeaten run extends to six matches and there is plenty for the Tartan Army to be positive about...

  13. GOALpublished at 21:49 British Summer Time 28 May 2014

It's third time lucky for Uche Nwofor after some calamitous Scotland defending. Gordon Greer stumbles as he clears but Grant Hanley has plenty of time to get the ball away only to dither in possession inside the box then hits the ball off an opponent and it falls nicely for the replacement striker to sneak a low shot past Allan McGregor. The keeper might have done better at his near post.

  14. CLOSE!published at 21:48 British Summer Time 28 May 2014

Uche Nwofor has an even better headed chance to draw Nigeria level but somehow puts the ball wide from close range near the front post!

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 28 May 2014

No prizes for guessing the recipient of the first caution of the evening. Scotland skipper Scott Brown is very late with a challenge on Nnamdi Oduamadi.

Uche Nwofor steals a march on the Scotland defence from a deep free-kick and his glancing header slithers a metre or so over the crossbar.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:43 British Summer Time 28 May 2014

The old 'substitution' graphic is taking a hammering as Steven Whittaker gets a run out for the last six or seven minutes, replacing Ikeche Anya.

Victor Moses cuts in from the left to have a run at the Scotland defence but the Chelsea forward, who has been on loan at Liverpool, skies his shot high over Allan McGregor's crossbar.

Just as I say that the Watford wing-back arrives at the back post and has a wild slash at George Boyd's lofted cross, sending the ball spinning into the crowd.

  20. Postpublished at 21:40 British Summer Time 28 May 2014

The raft of changes has disrupted the flow of the game as is so often the case but Scotland remain compact in defence and Ikeche Anya is a great outlet on the left.
