    The Albiceleste face Belgium at 17:00 BST on Saturday and it is the third time in a row they have reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

    They have, however, never gone further than this stage since they reached the final in 1990.

    Brazil's supporters were chanting late into the night at the north-eastern coastal city of Fortaleza ahead of the World Cup quarter-final here against Colombia.

    The atmosphere at Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's final news conference was less celebratory as the uneasy relationship between the combustible veteran and the Brazilian media fractured in public.

    Scolari has been criticised here for inviting a select group of journalists to a briefing and also using psychologist Regina Brandao to help his players - and the tense stand-off ended with the coach telling those who did not like it they "can go to hell".

    Signs of tension beneath the surface? Well, it was hardly the reaction of a happy camp but Scolari appears to thrive on such division.

    Fifa's general secretary Jerome Valcke has said he's "amazed" by the levels of drunkenness in Brazil's World Cup stadiums, reviving a debate over whether alcohol sales should have been allowed at matches in the first place.

    In an interview with Brazil's sports television network SporTV, Valcke said that "maybe there were too many people who were drunk" at the matches and pointed to the connection between inebriation and violence.

    "As a whole, I think tactically, the team was not set up to succeed," Donovan, 32, tells MLS.com. "They were set up in a way that was opposite from what they've been the past couple years, which is opening up, passing, attacking."

    Colombia's Faryd Mondragon (pictured right) became the oldest player to play at a World Cup with his substitute appearance against Japan in the group stages. At 43, he is the only player to feature in six qualifying campaigns for the competition since 1993.

    Of Lebanese descent, his name translates to "unique" - and he is certainly living up to it.

    His only other 30-something team-mate Mario Yepes (pictured left) earned his 100th cap in Colombia's second match of the tournament.

    Both provide a pillar of consistency in a squad which has carried Colombia to the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.

    Bomb squad officers are also in place to deal with any use of explosives by small protest groups.
