    Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado is the first man to reach four assists at a World Cup since Italy's Francesco Totti and Argentina's Juan Riquelme in 2006.

    He packs a trick or two and has an eye for goal from midfield, with one to his name in the tournament. You can read more about Cuadrado in our World Cup guide to day 23.

    Beware of calling for your club to sign him on the back of four impressive games, though, as he only contributed five assists in 32 games in Italy last season.

    Despite the mounting pressure and expectation on his side, Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is in confident mood ahead of tonight's clash against Colombia.

    Big Phil has deflected criticism of his side's playing style, adding: "Does Brazil continue to have one hand on the trophy? Yes.

    "We are going on to the fifth step and there are seven steps."

    France coach Didier Deschamps says Germany's big-match experience may be a factor in their quarter-final in Rio de Janeiro.

    Germany have reached the semi-finals of the last three World Cups and Deschamps accepts that Joachim Low's side may have the edge because of their history in the tournament.

    "Germany is very accustomed to this competition," said Deschamps.

    "Experience is more on their side, but we will play our game."

    Ahead of tonight's first quarter-final fixture, Germany coach Joachim Low has revealed seven Germany players are suffering from flu symptoms.

    "One third of our team were complaining about a sore throat," he said. "All players were able to train.

    "They still have a slight cold but there's no feeling of exhaustion. I hope that we do not have any worsening overnight."

    It's worth reflecting on the sad news from Belo Horizonte where a flyover has collapsed at one of the World Cup's host cities, killing at least two people and injuring many more.

    The concrete and steel bridge, which was under construction, fell on to traffic on a busy highway.

    Suarez, meanwhile, will be allowed to train, despite his ban from "all footballing activity," reports the Guardian.

    Claudio Sulser, the head of Fifa's disciplinary committee, says it would be "disproportionate", external to limit the Liverpool striker from starting pre-season training.

    Suarez, 27, was banned for biting Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's Group D contest with Italy at the World Cup. Uruguay have appealed against the ban.
