Mark from London via text: While I'm very frustrated that Arsenal are not pursuing a proven centre-forward, I wonder how many Arsenal fans would be declaring we'd fixed our striking problem if we had signed Alexis today rather than a few weeks ago?

Philip from Belfast via text: Would Falcao's loan have anything to do with Fifa fair play rule? Does a loan deal get around having to pay for him and break the rule?

The BBC's Turkish service have been following his movements since he left Turkish Super League club Trabzonspor at the weekend, after reportedly falling out with the club's coach, former Algeria manager Vahid Halilhodzic.

  16. Still to come...published at 16:11 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

As we enter the last seven hours of the window there's still plenty to look forward to.

Top of the list is Radamel Falcao's loan move to Manchester United. If that goes through it could be one of the deals of the summer. What Monaco are playing at allowing a £50m striker to leave on loan is anyone's guess, but United fans must be thrilled at the prospect of that strikeforce at Old Trafford.

The defence may be another matter - but Daley Blind is due in from Ajax too.

  17. Vintage Claretspublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

Former Wigan and Burnley manager Owen Coyle

"Burnley manager Sean Dyche has done a marvellous job at Turf Moor. The problem he will have is that he'll be looking to bring in quality, but maybe won't be able to pay the salaries. They've brought in forward George Boyd from Hull for £3m - that's their eighth signing this summer.

"The price tag probably fits into their budget - they want to look after the club for the long term. The Clarets will be looking for a bit of balance, unlike some Premier League clubs who might be paying over the odds."

  18. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

A big move for Hull then. Abel Hernandez is their club record signing, eclipsing the £8m they spent on Jake Livermore.

You can watch the Uruguayan score a hat-trick at the 2013 Confederations Cup here. As long as the Premier League defend like Tahiti they'll be sound...
