If Chelsea play Borussia Dortmund this season then we'll have to sign up Usain Bolt as a cameraman. My word they counter at pace, as Sporting have a corner and almost concede.

One big header out and Andre Schurrle just runs it, 60 yards up the field in a matter of seconds. Again his final ball isn't quite there but some superb athleticism from the Chelsea widemen so far.

He didn't draw them level for long, but yet another landmark goal for Lionel Messi this evening.

Brighton take the lead against managerless Cardiff through Bruno's volley but Sami Hyypia's side are in front for less than a minute as Kenwyne Jones levels for the Welsh club with a header.

Bottom club Blackpool have levelled at Middlesbrough through Ishmael Miller after Dani Ayala gave the hosts the lead. Elsewhere in the Championship, leaders Norwich are still goalless at home to Charlton.

The Roma fans are making a wonderful din inside the Etihad as their side pop the ball around very nicely now. City look nervy at the back - a draw wouldn't be too hot for them tonight and they know it.

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Etihad Stadium

"The touch of class from Francesco Totti gave Roma an equaliser they thoroughly deserved. He beat the offside trap and was helped by an unlucky slip from Joe Hart as he started to advance off his line. Roma giving it a real go here - very dangerous."

A really classy finish from Francesco Totti, but Joe Hart just lost his footing as the ball was played through. It meant that he wasn't able to come and get there. Great touch though.

What a game we have on our hands here. Both sides are going for it, attacking at every opportunity and Paris St-Germain regain the lead as Marco Verratti powers home a header from Thiago Motta's corner.

"An open goal really for Schurrle - what a miss that is.

    "A brilliant chance for him.

"Certainly to his right-hand side, he had three or four yards just to place it in the net."

The oldest swinger in town does the damage! Francesco Totti, 38, becomes the oldest goalscorer in European competition history with a cheeky finish, chipping over the head of Joe Hart with a wonderful touch. He was onside, played in by Radja Nainggolan, and the finish was first-class.

The familiar thumb-sucking celebration and the 1500 or so Roma fans go nuts.

You've got to score that one! What a miss from Andre Schurrle, Eden Hazard sprinting clear of the defence and putting the cutback on a plate. But the German hooks it wide...

A couple of familiar faces in the stands at Paris St-Germain, whose former player David Beckham is in attendance, as is former Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert. Presumably discussing the managerial situation at Ross County.

At the moment, Kluivert will be the happier of the two with how things are unfolding on the pitch. Barcelona are in control after Lionel Messi's equaliser.

Chance for Sporting now as Islam Slimani gets in between Gary Cahill and John Terry to meet a teasing cross from the left, but his header is poor and easily saved by Thibaut Courtois. A let-off for Chelsea, and moments later they almost capitalise, that man Andre Schurrle floating a header in on target before shooting low and hard.

    He gets some shots away!

Gervinho! The ex-Arsenal man skips through two very average challenges to have a clear run on goal, but Joe Hart whips the ball from his toes with some excellent sweeping up.

Ipswich Town's winning run in the Championship is under threat. Mick McCarhty's side arrived at Sheffield Wednesday having secured 12 points from the last four games, but Atdhe Nuhiu's goal has given the Owls an early lead. Elsewhere, Rotherham lead Blackburn 1-0 thanks to Kari Arnason.

"They're so shaky at the back, Sporting.

"Andre Schurrle coming off that left side is causing them all sorts of problems."
